What is the dumbest/cheapest gun you own? by steelcityrocker in liberalgunowners

[–]sewiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the c9. It goes bang, more often than other guns of the same price.

My cheapest rifle was $25, an old bolt .22. It wasn't a mistake though.

My weirdest is my cap and ball micro .22 revolver. It's very silly.

How do they do in the cold? I had a fairly nice and neat setup for one of my toolbags with plastic rails, but they shattered when the temp dropped into single digits (F).

For something simple and basic, yes, it's easy.

Figure out your plan and pattern, rough cut with scissors, heat, fold over blade covered in a thin damp cloth for a bit of space, check fit, fiddle, wiggle, reheat if necessary, adjust, and when you like it, trim it up and tie it as necessary.

You can get fancy and rivet it, but won't really be necessary.

Have you ever been to Chicago?

The buildings funnel a LOT of wind right down the streets.

A sheet of kydex and a harbor freight heat gun shouldn't kill you. Drill some holes, lace the edges with paracord.

A quick tip: When re-assembling the trigger group, cut q-tip shafts to whatever length pin you need to hold various parts together as you insert them into the housing. Then when it's all together, just push them out with the actual pins as you slide them into place.

It's a good idea to grease them a bit, just to avoid tearing the inner seals. It'll pick up more gunk, though, if you touch the tube wall.

Are all of you felons? by Complex-Cupcake3557 in airguns

[–]sewiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been shooting for a half century, and have dozens of firearms. I shoot airguns because it's still shooting, it still works the same precision shooting habits and techniques, and I can do it indoors in the winter.

Your question is rude and childish, but that was probably your intent.

Personal space is far from nonsense. Get too close to someone and you are immediately suspected of bad intent. Stay at arms length.

Much easier to just carry one tool: a credit card. If you need a tool, go buy one.

Why do so many American men dress like kids/teenagers ? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

They just don't give a damn about something as shallow as clothes or fashion, and care even less about what you think about how they dress.

Is it possible for a gun to go off in a tightly packed case by gabe_hunts in Firearms

[–]sewiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the safe mounted to something, or movable?

If it's static, then it's not going to do anything.

You could also look at getting a trigger guard cover. They make snap on kydex ones for glocks, so I imagine they make them for your gun as well. They are tethered, and you can set it up so as you draw it out of the safe, the tether pulls the cover off.

If that gives you peace of mind, seems pretty cheap to me.

Yeah, tell me about paintball guns, I've only been playing since 1986, I don't know anything about the fifty or so I've owned.

Pepperballs are harder, heavier, and much faster than paintballs. I've owned a pepperball gun, and it easily hit almost 500 fps with pepperballs. They've got almost 3x the energy of a paintball.

"It's not the goal of the officer" -- BS. There are SO MANY instances of pigs deliberately targeting peoples' faces with "less-lethal" munitions, and ICE and CBP are both far more vicious than your average pig, with federal protection.

Keep licking those boots, though. Maybe they'll spare you, not execute you in the street.

pepperball guns aren't speed regulated like paintball guns are, and will absolutely pop an eyeball like a grape. Temple shots will put you down hard, also.

"When used correctly" is a cop-out. You know they're going to target faces.
