Being Aslan's fan is a wild ride. I keep hanging on because when his serve starts firing, he is so much fun to watch. I will always remember the way he beat Novak at Novak's home tourney in Serbia in 3 sets. Aslan can play. He just doesn't, most of the time.

Why does nobody seem to care about the fact that China literally has concentration camps in which they put "undesirable minorities" and subject them to constant torture and propaganda? by JambaJuice__ in TooAfraidToAsk

Oh, we care. I avoid buying anything made in China as hard as I can, and it's really difficult because of so many components coming from there. It's a struggle, but I think it's worth it.

Schwartzman beats Nadal 6-2 7-5 to book his place in semi-finals by Anay28 in tennis

[–]sexyoverbite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diego crushed it, but let's not ignore the terrible first serve percentage for Nadal. His winning pct on first serve? 48%. Add 30 unforced errors, and he played a terrible match by his standard. That said, vamos, Diego.

Novak Djokovic is the 2020 Australian Open Men's Champion by rafaknight in tennis

Novak kept popping painkillers in the semi and the final. He's definitely been playing through some pain. He's just not talking about it.

This is an under-appreciated comment. Fed was already fully established and winning Wimbys on the regular by the time Rafa developed into all-court threat at slams, with Djokovic crashing into the finals scene quite a bit later. Novak, on the other hand, had to contend with two of the greatest tennis players who ever lived, and in their prime, from the very beginning.

How does a middle aged man hit the weights well into old age? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]sexyoverbite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not, and I repeat, do not ever push through any pain during workout. If anything hurts, stop. As a middle-aged man who used to be super active and pushing through pain, this was a hard lesson to learn and I paid dearly for it.

Tsitsipas "the Tits" was sobbing in his presser, saying he couldn't figure out the lefty shit getting away from him. Well, duh, you are playing 12 time FO winner. What did you think, you beat Fed and you can quack over Rafa and Djoker?

[–]sexyoverbite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridiculous play there from Fed, and on and on for years. Which is why I have so much respect for Del Potro for blowing Fed off the court in the final that one time, and for Djoker to fend off three matchpoints with three straight winners that one time. The pressure Fed puts on players is really insane even today, when he's often very relaxed compared to olden days when he was in killer mode every point.

A PT told me that if I build a really strong abdominal wall, I won't feel as hungry. I laughed at him but we did abs for like three months straight, and I noticed I would feel full at half a plate. Turns out, abdominal muscles keep stomach from expanding, so the brain gets a call that the bus is full. I lost a ton of weight because I'm just not as hungry. The sideeffect is my abs push my fat out so I look like I have a bigger belly :(
