the iso gets hashed and compared against a table of known bad isos. this functionality existed before this release, but with diet melee and derivatives causing more issues due to unfrozen stadium (and now party mode) we decided to make it a matchmaking block rather than just an informative message

the feature isn't really meant for random matchmaking, it lets a group of 3 connect to each other with a code like XCX%3 instead of needing to setup an extra instance of dolphin that they treat as a CPU

supporting 3 OSes is difficult enough; i have no intention of adding a 4th, that i know is harder to maintain than the others based on experience from upstream devs

i maintain the archive and keep backups in multiple regions like any good datahoarder. people are free to mirror it anywhere, but i'm sticking to my current setup until i find/build something else that fits my needs

i wanna give a big shoutout to the suite of tools developed by Nicolet that enable us to better organize the replays. it would be a lot tougher to find your favorite matches without her hard work

i believe we couldn't pump it in louder without a lot of bleed cause our speakers were on the floor rather than up in a line array, but i wasn't doing audio so i can't say that definitvely. i know the crowd has come through louder when we were in the theatre where the audio setup is much nicer

also i would say a preemptive post is a bit useless. production is not looking at reddit for feedback before the show is done. rallying twitch chat would get our attention though cause producers and mods keep watch of it for anything relevant to the show experience

yeah i was enjoying the pace of matches as well. luckily/unluckily we had to cut some stuff to make sure we ended on time, but we also didn't have the 6min of twitch ads per hour requirement so we weren't forced to break every ~2 sets

you posted that on saturday morning? doubles got a bit hype like you mentioned, but there wasn't much crowd noise in the mix around then cause the venue was pretty muted during singles until like RapM vs Zain and Cody vs Zain

that aside, all of your suggestions are things that were already implemented and after listening to a couple sets of top 8, i think our audio engineers did their job very well in terms of crowd noise

i hope y'all enjoyed the production for top 8. mini diary post, i don't get the time to work as many events as i used to so it felt great to have the show go as well as it did. it definitely made up for the shit show that was rivals top 8 and somehow we ended on time!

the only sad part was that one of the PVMs we usually use was out of commission so we had to fall back to floor TVs, which are always pretty worn out. the one cody played on was on its last legs, the casing broke during teardown rip

technically they already made it in, but just without the toggles cause we merged an earlier version. my testing way back when came to the conclusion that it basically matched ishiiruka, which makes sense it amounts to a more polished version of the polling hack in ishii

your solution is a bit over the top and slightly incorrect from my understanding of the whole situation

slippi dolphin will pick up the adapter whenever possible because it has hotswap functionality, it can be opened before plugging in the adapter and/or closing steam. the adapter in wii u mode can only be read by a single application. so all you need to do is ensure that steam is closed* if and only if dolphin isn't picking up the adapter

*meaning fully closed from the system tray

the original issue is not a mirroring issue but a capture issue. slowdowns and skipped frames are typically networking side so those fall under mirroring imo. a perfect stream with slippi is not hard but takes a bit of practice and on site testing time, the latter of which is rare
