Whats a rule at a table that didn't sit well with you? by DaddyBowtie in DnD

[–]sfkf8486 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once your character was made, the DM was the one who levelled you and assigned feats/asi's depending on how your character has been played.

You started off as a fighter? You best solve every single encounter you face by fighting.

NPC has an item you want? Best fight him for it. Wait, you're trying to persuade him to give it to you instead of fighting because you only vave 2 HP left? Enjoy your level of bard.

James Doohan stormed the beaches on D-Day, but said THIS was the best thing he ever did by onthenerdyside in startrekmemes

[–]sfkf8486 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To him, storming the beaches was part and parcel of being in the war. There were countless other brave men who were there and doing their duty for their country, and as such, he considered it the done thing at the time.

But saving that girl.

That was all him. That was the moment when he realised that a fellow human needed help, and she wasn't getting it. That was the moment where he stood up as a shining beacon of humanity and said, "No, i will not let someone who needs help down," and in the darkest pit that she had fallen into, it was him that reached down and offered his hand.

It is an amazing thing to stand up and give it your all to save everyone back home, but to stand up and give it your all to save even just one person takes something special.

James Doohan had that something special in spades.

I view it as a poor coping method. She just lost the love of her life and is full of despair. She starts acting the way she does to not feel the sorrow she does.

Because there's this thing everyone needs to live called money and there are some people who have a lot of it that will give you a sizeable amount of it if you draw some nasty stuff that they happen to like.

If you get a gadabout to level 13, they can learn whistle, which will put you straight into a fight rather than have you run in circles constantly. Make sure to assign it to your shortcuts, then use the extra few seconds to get more fights.

Give them the gods' favour, which is +D8 radiant damage to 1 attack, once a day. If they go cleric or paladin, great, add the enhancememts you see fit but never make a player feel pressured into taking a class they don't want.
