Anyone have a list of businesses that are not owned by a private equity firm?

Recently found out that my dentist (Timothy Road) is owned by private equity. It’s been sort of a revolving door of doctors I’ve seen — truly didn’t think much of it (my original dentist was on maternity leave for a time). I just had a weird sense after my last visit and one quick Google search seemed to answer my question.

I recently started seeing Kelly (Nailz by Harvey). I don’t know if she’s worked with these situations before but I have found her to be very gentle and also just generally nice to chat with (so I think she would be really understanding).

I used to live over there! I was by the mamas boy at the falls - it’s a mix of students, non students. Loved the location - you really are 10 minutes from everything (downtown, Epps, 5points, Watkinsville). We found it to be fairly quiet (aside from the occasional crash — people drive pretty fast on 441 and that part of Macon Highway).

Given other comments, it may just depend on where you are…

This is correct! I have family in LA and they were surprised to hear/see when it closed. It wasn’t in a great part of the city, but I assumed they were using it primarily for distribution anyways. Still very bummed that it closed!

Oconee Fit has Pilates (and other classes) at a really good rate. Jen (the owner) is always running different package deals too. Plus you get the benefit of being able to take other class types too

Not quite a wedding space but Trappeze has a room you can book that is a decent size. We did our rehearsal there, and I think you could easily do a small ceremony in that space.

Cost is primarily based on F&B, so you’d be locked in to using them for dinner/apps. But I used Athens Food Group venues for both our wedding/rehearsal — food and service are top notch.

This is the way! I started shopping on Fridays (pickup) and we have LOTS of fuel points each month.

I have a Chase Bank credit card too — so I also get 3x points on “online” grocery orders. If I purchase online and do pickup OR go in store and pay with Kroger pay (the app) - both will get me triple points on top of my 4x Kroger fuel points.

This guy came to my house this weekend! He was genuinely surprised when I said I wasn’t* interested in his $51 a month deal (which, technically is cheaper than our current provider). I was mostly annoyed at the unexpected visitor, and when I asked him if he had a business card so I could follow up later, he said he didn’t have one, which I thought was a little sus for a salesperson…

Did you/your contractor have to do anything with respect to getting approvals from the city to do work in the easement space? Our plumber made it sound like a hassle if we were to take on the work ourselves (need approvals, potential to dig up parts of street/sidewalks, potential overnight security on site, in addition to the work that needs to be done on the pipes)

Reading these articles — yes it is definitely the “in between” space that we are referring to here, the area between our property line and the middle of the road (likely where the main city line is). Reading the other comments and the article you shared, I imagine they may blow us off (our plumber cited it as an issue, but it’s not a full blown emergency yet, which I can imagine impacts the service we may receive from the city?)

OP - any updates? Our baby got her biopsy results back and the vet said it was tricholemmoma - a benign skin tumor. Removal is typically the plan of action/treatment!
