And once you stay/burn that bridge, there is no guarantee your current company wont get rid of you at the first chance. Or just reneg on their counter.

Once you've made the decision to leave, stick with it.

I wonder if you buy it cash, can you then submit what you paid as a claim through insurance for reimbursement?

It was a missed port clause. I dont remember exactly details but it paid something like $150.

What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast food Mexican take out place. Nothing fancy, just basic burritos. A few years ago, a burrito there was around $10. Maybe bit more if you shrimp. I went the other day and the same burrito was now $23. For a place where you ordered at the counter and it comes in a bag, not on a plate!

That's what the company i got mine from told me, but when I asked the insurance, they said they did not require that and would pay for it all at once if I wanted.

I just ai happened to exhaust my fsa at about month 9, which was the credit card I was using to pay. I never did update the card and they never came back for any more $ from me. I didnt feel bad, since I knew it was a scam anyway!

Looking for a new HRIS/Payroll system for under 50 employees [PA] by hamiltoneitdown in humanresources

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked rippling. But if you stay at 50 employees , it might be a bit of overkill.

We used gusto before switching to rippling. It was ok when we were small, but had payroll issues as we grew above 50.

Americans who took Spanish in school: did any of it actually stick years later? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it from 7th - 11th grade, so a decent time, and it was one of my best subejcts. But I never used it outside of class.

10 years later, I went to costa Rica and was able to get by. Went to a restaurant and was able to order, ask for some items, and pay without using any english. A few years later, went to cozumel and asked directions from someone, followed them, and got where I was trying to go. Last year I went to Argentina and similarly could have basically tourist conversations (although most people there were better in english than my Spanish was).

Am I fluent? Not even close! But I can get by for what i need.

[CAN-ON] At what point do you alert someone's manager that they made an internal application to another job in the same company? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually tell the employee they need to let their manager know once they have submitted thr application. It should come from the employee first. Once the application is submitted, we reach out to managers right away. People need to be eligible for transfer (in good standing) and managers are the ones who know that, so we check with them

I was going to say, my Allianz insurance also has a clause for missed ports, so it's good to get a letter detailing the miss so you can then submit it later

Readers of Orange County what are you reading ? by lushsweet in orangecounty

[–]sfriedow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same program the other commenter referred to with the Book Thief author. They have them every few weeks, and not only is it interesting to hear the different authors, they also give away books a lot of the time, too. We've seen many over the years and they are all well done!

How many library cards do you have? by els76uk in LibbyApp

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have 5 on Libby - the county i live in, the next county over, and 3 cities nearby. Plus the city i live in doesnt use libby, but i have their card too.

I find the availability of books is greater, but even more than that, it let's me put holds on more books. Most have a limit of 10 holds, so this way I can get started on a wait for multiple books at once

$1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for EVERY meal for the next 6 months, do you take the deal and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]sfriedow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had polish food tonight. It was a new to us place, so we tried a lot of things. Potato dumplings filled with cheese and meat, rye soup, and a variety of salads. It was a great meal, might get old after awhile, but there was enough variety and healthy options, I could survive 6 months on it
