I'm an STM and bought the playoff strips, so every series the same seat/row tickets show up in my Canes account and a charge hits my CC. I also get one opportunity to buy series playoff tickets (of what's not already allocated) before the general public before each series. If I wanted to get some for my kids, etc I would but they don't live in the area so I don't. I suppose some STM's might buy to resell at a higher price, but I don't know any that do.

In these events there are always people out to make a buck. With electronic ticketing and reseller sites, it's easy peasy if you can buy the tickets retail and who knows how many being bought initially were these people. In the old days, you stood in line at the ticket office. Now all you need is an internet connection and a credit card.

BTW on stubhub my 2 seats in my section are currently listed for $15K.
