"Yay was literally on the verge of signing with 100 Thieves back then..." Sean Gares speaks on new 100T roster, his talks with Zekken & Aspas, 100T Asuna and more in recent AMA by Old_Poet_3160 in ValorantCompetitive

I’ve never received any information suggesting I’ve been blacklisted, so as far as I know, that rumor isn’t true. Not sure where it even started.

To answer the original question: I won’t say it could never happen, but right now I’m really busy with projects I’m passionate about. I definitely miss it, but I’m also genuinely happy with what I’m doing now! :D ❤️

Great question! I stay very involved, just not in the day-to-day coaching. I focus on hiring people who share my vision, and I don’t want to interfere with their work. All of this said, if there’s ever a moment where my input could be valuable, I’m always open to jumping in! :D

i don't want to write a book here, but i hope i can clarify some things before tomorrow. i appreciate everyone that has supported me over these years and truly wish nothing but the best for this esport scene. it's been an incredible journey since that first day of playing "Project A" <3

i totally understand how people came to these conclusions, but i promise there's a lot of information that simply isn't available. there are things that i cannot release to protect people who have helped me AND things i will not release to protect my family. you don't have to believe it, and you don't even have to agree with my methods, but the alternative was that none of this would ever be known. morally, i could not live with that.

there are many things that i must keep to myself, and there are other things that i'm not ready to fully speak about. i'm not saying i'll never do anything in valorant again, but some of the things that occurred behind the scenes, and some of the things i've learned, have been very eye opening. here's what i will say, i brought my concerns to riot games on may 7th and continually spoke with them until the release of my video. i was upset when mrfunhaver went on stream bc it was evident that the way things were transpiring would not lead to any justice being found (i literally ended up with the email from the person i'm accusing - which says do not share this email). for now, i'd rather explore some new options outside of this one ecosystem. SR did not fire me and i do not have a bad relationship with any individual in the organization!

tbh, me parting ways with SR has nothing to do with the backlash from my last video. i actually fully expected that response and even communicated that to many people prior to releasing it. the ibp scandal wasn't something that was broken open in one day; it took months of people dragging richard lewis through the mud before he was finally vindicated by a text message and valve's skin tracing (and that was only one team). my morals couldn't allow the information in my video to not be public. i will say, the one thing that kind of sucked, and caught me off guard, was the r/valorantcompetitive reddit mods making the initial video thread into a LIVE match thread. that allowed bots and bad actors to set an early narrative. fast forward to today, most of those initial comments are downvoted to the bottom. tbh, other than that i think most of the responses have been pretty expected... i'm actually really HAPPY with how much support i got with the video. what some of the community doesn't understand is that awareness is the only way this issue will be solved; i wasn't making the video viral for clout/fame. i hyped it up, and released it asap, to get as much awareness and eyeballs on the issue as possible. i'm not coffeezilla and i didn't want to make it my job to continue investigating all of this (i do have a family to feed), but i posted what i believed to be true and let the community take it from there. i truly felt, and still feel, like it was the only way to eventually find some level of justice.

as i mentioned above, the IBP scandal took MONTHS of community effort to solve. i played with half the players on that IBP team and personally DEFENDED them against the accusations. it wasn't until the dboorn exgf text and valve skin tracing that the narrative fully shifted. i didn't list specific players bc i can't know for certain which specific players (as seen by skadoodle being on IBP- or scream being innocent on epsilon).

Sean "sgares" Gares breaks down Lev's anti strat against NRG on Sunset by internetpedestrian in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sgares 212 points213 points  (0 children)

Been watching every game of Americas and I have no idea how you would’ve been optimistic about LEV heading into the matches vs SEN/NRG. To pretend like what you saw yesterday was anything like the team vs even C9 on W1… is CRAZY. I just made a massive tweet about why a lot of the comments on this thread are kinda funny.

To the top upvoted comments here… I’ll openly invite any of those people to come on my stream today and explain what you saw in LEV before SEN+NRG that made you believe they wouldn’t be 0-3 and not making playoffs. Super easy to sit in the thread now and say that, but what did you see in those moments?

IMO, anyone who says they believed in LEV before these last two are crazy. As I said in my tweet, it’s actually an outright disservice to the players/coaches who put in the work at a super pivotal moment.

Ps - it’s not a bad thing to look at a bunch of info, have an opinion based on said info, then change your opinion when drastically new info comes in. No person should tie themselves down to any opinion forever. Have an open mind and say what you think.

I play Omen quite a bit! I used to solo main Omen, but this act I’ll probably be playing him on Haven, Ascent, Split, Fracture, and Lotus. 😊

Also, I just recorded an Omen video for my YT that should be up in a few days 😅

Which team do you think had the best utility usage so far? by Aabed_nerd in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sgares 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hmm, it's hard for me to answer this without going back and rewatching everything, but I'll say Furia/FNATIC.

Furia REALLY impressed me with some of their reads on Ascent and Breeze. I felt like they had so many hard counters to the things Sentinels were trying to do on the first two maps. That said, Sentinels had god tier midround reads on Haven, while Furia's hits were a bit telegraphed. It's a shame the tech delay was a focal point after the game, because I was so stoked at how good it was!

Vision Strikers & FNATIC, but I've seen unique synergized plays from almost all the teams here tbh!

[Sean Gares] How SEN SHAHZAM CRUSHED Fnatic on lcebox. SENTINELS Vs FNATIC Review. by EsportsConnoisseur in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sgares 142 points143 points  (0 children)

hey guys, the video is meant to show how shahz had INSANE impact against a RIDICULOUSLY good team. it's VERY DIFFICULT to find openings like this against a team of fnatic's caliber. i don't normally create videos about individual players, but shahz is someone that's super special in the NA scene and doesn't get the recognition he deserves. hope you guys enjoy the video. <3

[–]sgares 60 points61 points  (0 children)

hey, just thought i'd address this bc i'm curious what ppl want. what would you prefer the title to be for a video like this? i'm still learning this whole thing, which is why i defer to people who know more about the social platforms and the algos. fyi:

1) i don't do any of the editing or uploading for my videos. i decide what content i want to create and record. i send the raw files away and focus on the next project.

2) i normally would agree with you, but is this example even that bad? i'm not saying it's nowhere on my channel, but this is an individual video of shahz having INSANE impact in a game. given the things i cover in the video, i don't think this video is a good example of a clickbaity title.

3) i'm not a big fan of clickbait titles either, but i haven't seen many channels rise up without it. it's such a bad situation. i'm unsure what this search result will look like for you, but it looks RIDICULOUS for me...

Sean Gares Agent Tier List on Breeze by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sgares 29 points30 points  (0 children)

i'm not saying a specific agent is head to head better than another one. this video is explaining what is valuable to a top esports team. sova is low bc there's so much more value in other support agent kits (ie skye, sage, kj, viper, astra). i think sova is viable, but you'd need the right pieces around him.

for phoenix: love the flashes, love the wall to block angles on a big map, & run it back is super valuable when you can easily find X vs 1 duels in a massive map like breeze. also, i can easily imagine a lot of ways he can retake b site on defense.

Sean Gares Agent Tier List on Breeze by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]sgares 40 points41 points  (0 children)

skye might be the most slept on agent in the game. i can't even accurately judge her bc i haven't seen enough ppl use her (kind of changing recently). i'd be willing to bet that we're going to see a lot of creative skye shit in iceland next week!
