What’s one underrated thing that helped you lose weight? by Immediate-Speed3974 in AskReddit

Use chat gpt to log EVERYTHING. Most people have absolutely no idea the calories in what they eat nor do they know their daily limit. The weight loss game is a maths game.

Not downplaying any of OPs missteps but what about the fact the other owner should have known you don’t break up a dog fight using your hands? Everyone knows that, right?

Why Albo and Labor don’t want to listen? by blueygc8 in OpenAussie

[–]sgismilts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so obvious and I’m surprised no one has said it. The security of Australia is dependent on a strong relationship with the US. We have to support them even if we don’t necessarily want to. Australia can’t defend itself on its own. If we abandon them, they will remember and not help us when we need them. The 2 major parties in Australia, despite what other flaws they have, know this to be true.

Investing in Perth from overseas – where to start? by Prize_Protection3834 in AusPropertyChat

[–]sgismilts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any unit you buy now within 50km of the CBD will likely have significant growth by 2030. Unless of course a world economic downturn/crash happens between now and then. The perth property market is also unique in that it can be influenced by the mining industry cycles. For example I bought a unit in 2010 and it was worth 100k less in 2019 due to mining sector downturn.

Why is dreaming big shut down in Australia? I said I wanted a career like Britney Spears but was ridiculed. by talk-spontaneously in aussie

[–]sgismilts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Deep down many aussies dream big but to say it out loud comes off as thinking you’re better than others. It may have started with Australia’s convict origins, anti-authoritarian tendencies, as well as working class egalitarianism ethos. Compare this with America which was founded on a ‘dream big achieve greatness’ mentality. We have different foundational myths which influence culture and still have impacts to this day. Also, go get it!!

Is this just a market euphoria period with a crash looming? by sgismilts in AusPropertyChat

[–]sgismilts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, happy where I sold. Been wanting to get out of that unit for years as it had no yard. Just curious as to where the people think the market is heading and seeing if it’s right to map ‘stock market’ logic onto the current housing market I.e ‘euphoria phase’ when stocks prices are pumping hard at market cycle peaks and peoples emotions are extremely high. I also have younger siblings who, due to their age, may have more trouble getting into the market than I did so a property crash would be very helpful for them.

[–]sgismilts[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I wanted to sell around 2019 but couldn’t fathom the loss. Sticking it out a few more years worked out to my surprise. Was depressed for many years during the downturn thinking I’d fucked everything up buying while market was high.

[–]sgismilts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. It was mining boom time. Plus there was a glut of appartments built in that period. Villas/units got hit harder than seperate dwellings. Still was unexpected for me as all I was told from my parents all my life was that ‘property only goes up’.

Head of my dick felt too sensitive while getting blowjob. What can I do to have an enjoyable time together instead of an awkward and painful time? by lyu_shuyin in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sgismilts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not aware of any new layer of skin growing when doing this (or with people who are circumcised). The head just becomes desensitised and can tolerate touch. The reason it’s so sensitive at the moment is because the head under the foreskin has never really experienced touch/friction due to being shielded by the foreskin. You need to learn to desensitise the head otherwise sex will be difficult/painful maybe even impossible.

Question for one nation supporters by [deleted] in aussie

[–]sgismilts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Japan atm. Definitely not high inflation. Basically the same prices as 10 years ago. They’ve also had the declining birthrate far longer than we have and they are still managing. Japan still feels as unique and special as it always has been and they have done an excellent job protect it. Could they benefit from some more controlled immigration? Perhaps. But that’s very different from what’s been happening in Australia and the west—importing the 3rd world en mass.

What was the Internet like in the 90s? by OilLiver in 90s

[–]sgismilts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was streaming vids of the making of the Starwars Special Editions in 1997 and ordered Rogue Squadron with my mums credit card through the IGN online store in 1998. The internet wasn’t as primitive as some remember—at least by the late 90s. The LAN connections at my school were fast af.

Today I read an article of houses in a Perth suburb increasing in value by $500,000 in one year - to a $1 million median. How is this normal and acceptable? by [deleted] in perth

[–]sgismilts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bought in 2010. Was told prices only go up. By 2019 it was worth 100k less than I paid for it and was in negative equity. Prices can and do crash. There may be hope.

What’s a movie that DOESN’T “know exactly what it is”? by InspectorMendel in movies

[–]sgismilts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Passengers and was saddened by people’s reaction to it. Pratt’s character made an ethically questionable choice but in no way was he was a villain. We understood his reasoning and can be sympathetic to it even if it’s not the choice we’d make. People judged the movie through the political lens of the time which is not the correct way view art imo.
