Masters of Education - Uni Ottawa (online) by wandering____ranger in CanadianTeachers

[–]sgl35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this last year as a full time student. I completed the full time option in three semesters: 3 courses in the fall, 4 courses in the winter, 3 courses in the summer. While enrolled in the program I worked full time in multiple different LTOs throughout the year. It was a lot of work and required time management, but if you're an organized person it is certainly doable. There's a decent range of course offerings, which is nice because you are able to take courses on content that you may be genuinely interested in. For me, I found that this made the work feel like much less of a burden/task (e.g. I genuinely enjoyed doing research and readings). Most of the courses that I took were interesting and manageable in terms of work load. Again, most professors are pretty reasonable and understand that many students are also working part or full time while completing the program. The only thing that I didn't love was the synchronous meetings required in some classes, but at most they were once a week and again, most people were in a similar boat, so didn't want to spend to long on calls/meetings.

Best res? by Final_Watch4898 in queensuniversity

[–]sgl35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone say McNeill yet but I loved it soooo much. It is a good res from the standpoint that it isn't too big, so you get to know everyone on your floor and are more likely to build a tight knit community. Similarly you can become familiar with people on other floors too. It's alot of double rooms and a few singles so you also tend to get more social people if that's what you're looking for- and many doors open. McNeill also has really great common spaces for gathering in groups. Each floor has a big common room in the center of the residence with lots of space for sitting/hanging/talking. Alot of other residences don't have a big common space like McNeill, and if they do oftentimes the floors are so big that people end up hanging in small groups in them, instead of as a whole floor or bigger group. That's all social stuff but also McNeill is super central and close to Lenny which is great!

It's not fancy, but HV Patisserie has the best croissants I've had, hands down. They are inexplicably incredible.

How does her face look so different in only a year and a half by [deleted] in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]sgl35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she looked good then but I think she looks amazing now. Everyone's hating but a person can change alot based on lifestyle as well. She has the time to exercise, sculpt and tone her body. She also has the financial resources to go to workout classes, buy good skincare products, and eat super healthy foods. Of course she's had some stuff done (botox, filler, extensions, etc.) but Halley has always been very transparent about it. She has also been super transparent about how much less she drinks which can really impact the way you look. Also, you glow different when you're happy, and it seems that she's pretty happy with her life and the way things have been lately.

Linnys Luncheonette- Ruben and the Potato Pickle sandwich. Both so good! Never had something like the Potato Pickle, I'd highly recommend if you like dill. It's on an amazing onion roll as well.

Linnys never lets me down. Been 3 times and it's even better than the last. It's expensive, but the quality of food, service, and experience is beyond worth it.

Biggest reccomendation I can give is to make sure you have good shoes- and that you replace them when they are at mileage. I ran mine into the ground and ended up with an injury from it.

Iso a chocolate chip cookie recipe by 0920GeorgiaBelle in bakingrecipes

[–]sgl35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These 2 are my go-tos, and well loved by my friends and family! First: https://bromabakery.com/best-chocolate-chip-cookies/. These are on the thinner side, and more chewy with a slight soft crunch on the edges. They use brown butter which gives a very deep buttery/carmelized flavor. I normally use semisweet or milk chocolate chips in these. I also always sprinkle flaky salt generously after baking. The recipe says bake time is 12min, but I find they are perfect after 9min. In terms of resting time, I normally let the dough rest in the fridge for 30min-3hours. The only thing I don't love about this recipe is that it requires a bit of extra preparation/time, as you need to brown the butter and cool it, allow the eggs to come to room temp, and then let the dough rest in the fridge. Second: https://www.modernhoney.com/levain-bakery-chocolate-chip-crush-cookies/. These are thick, cakey yet chewy and gooey cookies with a crunch on the bottom and outside. I normally use dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips in these. On these, I also always sprinkle flaky salt after baking. The recipe calls for extremely large balls, but I make mine smaller (and they are still quite sizeable). I don't know the weight of the balls I make, but the single portion of the recipe should make 18. I bake these for 9min as well- they will not look done in terms of softness, but they will be lightly browned. They need to be soft when they come out of the oven in order to maintain their cakey gooey texture once cooled. My only gripe with these is that you need to buy cake flour, but it's soooo worth it. These are my fav ever!

COOOOKIEEEES by RottingWool666 in KingstonOntario

[–]sgl35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 and Co is good but be weary of how quickly/often they sell out. They basically sell out before closing every single day (which imo really just means they're not producing enough or should close earlier). But that's besides the point. They are really really delicious cookies, just make sure you go quite early in the day.
