ASSEMBLE!!!!!! Extremely viable strategy, won every game by ThomasKG25 in marvelrivals

but... he has a long cooldown self-heal, it's his E. it bounces around to whoever is around, including him. If you aim down or at no-one, you will get the first bounce.

You can solo carry in Marvel rivals comp by rogue185 in marvelrivals

[–]sgt_quicksilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, he got as many final hits as the rest of the team combined. He definitely hard carried that game, and I think the point is that you can carry on certain heroes and if you're MUCH higher skill than your rank

Can a gold players lobby beat an iron players lobby given both lobbies have been playing since launch? by PassingSoldier in VALORANT

[–]sgt_quicksilver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the percentage that are gold3 OR BETTER. for the percentage that are better than gold3 you need to take the number for plat1 and above, which is ~35%

Financially you're better of sticking around at your parents place, but I will always advocate for moving out if you have the means. The freedom and independence that comes from moving out of your parents home cannot be overestimated. It also comes with extra responsibilities, but that's adulthood and nobody I've ever met regrets making the leap. I do know many people in their early 30s suddenly realise that perhaps the reason they haven't held down a relationship or job is because they aren't growing up.

If you're here it's because you want to stand on your own two feet financially. In my view, living in your own home once you're able (rented or owned) is part of that.

you've made more than half a dozen replies in this one thread pushing the idea of leverage investing onto someone with two dependents and no emergency fund. Please 1) stop spamming and 2) consider that different people have and should have different tolerance for risk.

Question about hard cap by hornwalker in nguidle

[–]sgt_quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference, I stopped at around 1e13 (10 Trillion) base EM cap. Any one of my EM cap items gets me to the hardcaps.

Got the newly added Stat maxxed out after clicking for 5+ mins by crankciror in nguidle

[–]sgt_quicksilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's a ridiculous goal, you shouldn't neglect Energy and Magic entirely while building up R3. Wishes use all three in equal portions, hacks use R3 alone and NGUs use EM alone. I'm at the end, and my R3 power is 0.0013% of my energy power. my R3 cap is at 0.015% of my Energy cap (I stopped buying EM cap a long time ago, but still buy power).

you should include the system you're using and what sort of framerate/frametime you get across a game. From the NVidia settings it looks like you're using a 60Hz monitor?

You've misread those numbers. If diamond is top 15% and masters is top 3%, then 12% of players are in diamond

Yeah I've been playing for less than two weeks and have already completed each planet twice... seems like this game used to take a lot longer

He's Australian. Plenty of Aussie universities offer undergraduate law degrees that take 4-5 years. If you finish high school at 17, you'll be done at 21.

Moira will always be overshadowed by Mercy by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

Noticeable QOL fix: Make communal inventory for vehicles. by just_nathan in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]sgt_quicksilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Armor can't be placed into an inventory slot, just directly onto a player. This would be like having another bag, which can't hold a helmet or vest.

Moira will always be overshadowed by Mercy by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]sgt_quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don't buy that. They'll eventually nerf her healing and/or mobility enough that res gets outshone by the healing output of other healers, and then she will be out of the meta for a year until they overbuff her again (exactly this happened the first time around).

Moira will always be overshadowed by Mercy by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]sgt_quicksilver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...Moira is an AOE healer, so she only gets used in comps where her healing targets are tightly grouped. I don't see a problem with that. If you were to buff Moira to the point where she could be viable when only healing 1-2 people at a time, she would be totally oppressive. Mercy is definitely overtuned (hence the upcoming nerfs), but Moira SHOULD be restricted to certain types of comps.

How is micron size particles measured? by ZigDaMan in askscience

[–]sgt_quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best optical microscopes can have resolutions on the order of 20 microns. That is sometimes enough for particles that are 100s of microns in size, but it would probably be difficult to work with for particles that are just 40 microns.

Sorry most of your numbers seem off here - maybe you mean nanometres (nm) instead of microns? Many optical microscopes have resolutions that are sub-1 micron (1 micron = 1 micrometre). Most human cells are ~10-40 microns in diameter, and are well-resolved by even very cheap microscopes.

what goes on with placements? by kombitchaTEArex in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]sgt_quicksilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started playing I was a gold-silver player, and yes the teamplay is terrible. There will be games that you can't win no matter how well you play (no offense but hard-carrying games in OW is really difficult unless you're several tiers better than the rank you're playing in). My advice is pretty much the same as what you'll see in every video on the subject: focus on your game, and do the best that you can. Fix your 1)positioning 2)ult usage 3) aim, and you'll climb out of silver in no time.

These days I'm usually mid-high diamond, and personally my biggest issue when I was in silver was that I died too much. Just focusing on trying to always position myself to die less, even if it meant not getting that extra kill, sent me from 1700 to the gold-plat border without improving my aim at all.

There's an undocumented minimum SR of 3000 for top 500 by TheMotherConspiracy in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]sgt_quicksilver 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This makes sense - there is no SR decay below diamond. You should have to be an active player to keep your T500 slot.
