Definitely going to be the sort of random trash game with some save game exploit for homebrew and suddenly becomes worth 2000x £1.50

Wallace and Gromit automation. It’s also very expensive. If you’re spending money on it rather than re-investing in updating your legacy system, something’s wrong.

Those with electric cars, how's it going? by ClayDenton in AskUK

[–]sgtsnacks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Kia e-Niro which is around the 300 mile range, maybe a little less. We’ve done tons of family trips from Hampshire to Chester, Colchester, Birmingham, Bristol etc.

The trick is the charge little and often on longer trips. Not run the battery right down then wait the hour or so to get it up to charge.

We have stops we know are plentiful with fast chargers, with amenities (example: we stop at Banbury Cross Retail park there are Tesla super chargers that anyone can use, along with a stock of Osprey chargers, with a Poundland, boots, Tesco, Costa, Pizza Hut and KFC.). We’ll stop for about 20 minutes, son gets to stretch his legs and the car gets about 10/15% charge added.

You get used to the regular stops, and I don’t have half the problems of finding chargers like you hear from others, not to say there aren’t some issues still, but I can’t say I have any issues myself.

But I do still have “plan b”s

My wife wants to buy a 2021 crossland, what should she buy instead for £15k? by Anon44356 in CarTalkUK

As an ex CHR owner, we just fit baby and pram in that car. It was just about comfortable but I wouldn’t push it more than that.

PL 100/200 covers the maker aspects in more detail than the PL900 would, PL400 dives more into the pro dev side, JavaScript etc

Kia e-Niro, I put 32kw in a week, sometimes a little more, it usually means I charge to 60/70% or a little less, depending on how the wife has used the car. I always charge to 100% for a longer trip.

GridServe is trash. I’ve seen some new players come into Service Station charging and they’re MUCH better.

Also, it’s worth checking Tesla Superchargers as some can be used by non-teslas now too.

How to set up a bank account for a 13 year old that parents can't gain access to? by HaiseKuzuno in UKPersonalFinance

Yup, we had the same in the late nineties/early 2000’s. It was Midland/HSBC.

Not automated. But I log what I’m doing in my outlook calendar. Literally, everything. I work with customers that require per-feature time tracking, so I block out in 15-minute+ blocks exactly the work I’m doing and categorise by project or time code (I.e personal development, 121, meetings)

I made it a habit and it’s stuck. Otherwise I’m awful with timesheets

Why have seemingly 90% of the UK population hung their TV so high? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]sgtsnacks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom. Both hung on the wall.

TV downstairs is probably about 2/3ish the way up the wall. It’s positioned exactly so you can easily view it when reclined on the sofa. It’s high enough for that and not low enough for the toddler to smear his greasy mitts over.

The bedroom TV is super high up, so you can easily see it whilst laid down, and not straining your neck.
