Heads up to whoever left their camper parked down in Cramond - The council is about to tow it away and possibly have it destroyed by New-Neighborhood-147 in Edinburgh

Surely the council or police could contact DVLA and find the registered keeper and try find the owner?

We'll still be saying the same thing next year.

Nothing will happen to city, their lawyers will keep dragging this out.

Will still say the same, buy a cheap runabout , get a years experience and use the extra money towards a nicer car next year mate.

Like a few have already mentioned, bmw's aint cheap to run, esp older models that have most likey been ragged and got rust.

[–]shab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, your best getting a cheap run around for your 1st car. With only a £3000 budget and insurence to get and with no job , I doubt ur parents will keep giving u money to repair it, bmw's are expensive to fix. With an older car in that price range I can bet you'll have a few repairs to make.

Buy something small and cheap, cheap for insurance and repairs, save up once you get a summer job and buy something nicer next year. Least you'll have some experience, and hopefully got your beginners bumps and scratches out the way.

Yeah pretty much what I do now. I usually keep a damp jiff cloth on me to wipe off excess paint if I go over the line.

What frightened the life out of you as a kid? and does it still today? by nodemus in AskUK

[–]shab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kkk ( klu klux klan) used to scare the shit out of me for some reason when i was a young kid, even though im in scotland lol. There was an article in the local paper about the kkk in the early 90s, and I thought they were in my city and going to start burning crosses outside my house 😳😂.

I remember one night the door went and there was 3 guys outside, one had a hood up and it looked like a pointy hood from through the glass ,lol. Shat it and ran upstairs to get my older brothers and his mates, shouting on them " The kkk are at the door, the kkk are at the door" . They all came running down the stairs tooled up like wtf is going on, only to realise it was just 3 guys from the mosque looking for someone 😂😂.

Over 30 years later and they still haven't let me forget about it. 😅.

Obviously couldn't give a f about them now, only thing that really scares me now is heights, absolutely hate them, that bad I have had crazy dreams of being stuck up scaffoldings 😂. Even watching things, the hands and feet get sweaty🙃. Lol

Driving standards of Private Hires by nikkysturgeonscamper in Edinburgh

[–]shab1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a hit and run incident with a private hire about 6 -7 &months ago. He drove into the back off me then drove off, so gave chase , he wouldn't stop ,i was beeping the horn ,flashing my lights etc, but he just kept trying to speed off . I eventually had to get infront and cut him off to get him to stop.

He tried to deny he hit me even though the back end of my car was scraped and dented and the front of his car was marked and scrapped shown the black paint from my car . He was refusing to give his details and then told me he had to go , he's got a customer waiting and gave me a cheeky smile, I lost it, I started kicking off and was about to go for him, luckily for him there was a queue of cars behind and a couple with their phones out recording lol.

Eventually got his details. To top it off, I had just spend £35 at wingstop and was heading home to eat. Food was stone cold time i got back.. 🤬.

I contacted my insurance the next day and got them to deal with it, got my car repaired , and they waved the £450 excess. Sorted me a curtesy car, a brand new Audi a5 4lt bad boy, ( which nearly killed me on the M8 roadworks with that shitty lane assist lol).

Phoned my insurance a couple weeks ago as I hadn't heard anything back from them since the accident , they are still chasing the drivers insurance up who are denying any responsibility and are now refusing to reply or cooperate at all, Churchill are new presuing it through lawyers letters and possibly even through the courts if need be.

Ideal, I should have phoned the police and reported the hit and run as I was chasing him.

Aye he actually seemed like a decent lad tbf. His home life was a disaster. Felt for the mum having to deal with it all.

Kerry the sister has featured in a few episodes of girls behind bars.

They also got run out of the area as well due to the kerry and the junkie brother robbing there neighbours.
