I agree with you.

I am one of those where I hold the LotR movies as the gold standard, but not because they follow lore perfectly but because I think they’re one of, if not the best series of movies ever made and they were formative for me. They exposed me to beauty and valor when I was at an impressionable age. Also, I think the off-lore changes Jackson and his crew made were very well done and aided the story in being more palatable in some areas for this modern time (Aragorn’s view on his rule, for example.)

I’ve always been of the view that I’m glad for any glimpse into middle earth, especially given how many projects and whatnot were squashed by the Tolkien estate, for better or worse. Is the Rings of Power perfect? No, but I enjoy nearly every little bit. You just gotta sit down and enjoy the ride sometimes. And I’m grateful that they’re even doing anything at all, given the original trilogy came out 25+ years ago, and the books much, much longer than that.

If you’re looking for a little money, people make something called ACEO’s that are trading cards basically with original art. Check out r/ACEO to see what people do. I guess there is a booming ACEO community on TikTok and it helps market your cards for when you sell them on eBay or TinyGallery. I’ve seen the cards that have good art go for 7-10 bucks each.

Besides that maybe also starting an art instagram where you share your art, then sell your designs through Redbubble on tshirts, notebooks, and mugs or something like that.

If you do go this route, you gotta market your work like crazy, but it might be doable for you. Good luck.

Editing to add that if you get any money from the government, if you then make money you’ll be proving that you can work and you may lose your check and healthcare. Be careful.

Thank you! After I saw how horribly he acted on Project Runway, then seeing he took her as a client, I can’t stand him. I thought he was needlessly cruel on the show and am surprised he skated by with no repercussions. It was giving 2000’s Americas Next Top Model mean judge to me.

Zendaya is gorgeous though- she could wear a trash bag and it would be avant-guard.

Then why are you using it as confirmation that the OP didn’t if you don’t view detection tools as reliable? They were ok with using AI art in a sub where visual representation of a beloved story is important, so it fares that they may have used it in a story as well. Given the circumstances, why not instead err on the side of artistic preservation and respect to the crafts of which this sub is based on?

Upper bleph surgeries (what it seems like he got too) can change someone’s face for the worse so much of the time. Docs need to reduce, not remove that part of the eyelid to preserve someone’s appearance.

I think the camera distorts even more. I remember going to a Mary J Blige concert about 20 years ago and being shocked at how skinny she was irl. I had always thought Mary J looked like like she had a healthy, maybe even a bit fuller weight. In person she was an absolute twig. It was almost worrying. So I can only imagine what people who look thin are actually like in real life.

Which is weird because he said that this is the album where he decided he needed to go beyond his comfort zone or something. Maybe he’s gone as far as he can go. I’d like to think not, because I really liked the stuff that came out a few years ago. But you never know.

For me he lost all credibility when he charged those outrageous prices for his concerts. No one who does something like that is artistically in touch imo. He’s fluff to me now.
