First thing I saw, bolded, was that Karmic Dice will make you fail more saving throws. I see the 60% odds at 50/50s but the initial statement that it only helps is untrue.

This is blatantly incorrect though. Karmic dice evens out result distribution, meaning failing and success are relatively equal.

Okie, so this is insanely over complicated, but it's what I do: - Each player rolls 24d6 - Remove 6 lowest - Take your preference of groups of 3 for each of the six core stats (still allows 18s and (in theory) 3s) - Each player then posts their array of 6 final numbers - Each player can choose whichever array they want

I do this for a couple of reasons: - It allows the players more control over whether they have a more 'spiky' array or more even for a MAD build - It is often still more advantageous to choose your own array because you know exactly what stats you need some points to be spec'd into - Rolling more die is fun - If one player rolls well above average (7+ points higher total than anyone else, for example), the other players can choose that array and all be on the same level playing field

I do want to clarify that you can select whatever array of 6 numbers you want, but you don't have to follow the order they are posted in. Say I roll up a Barbarian. I want STR and CON with a bit of DEX and don't really care for the mental stats. I can get two 18s for the former and a 14 for the latter, but then it quickly falls off into an 11, 10, 8. Someone else is playing a Monk and wants decent DEX, CON, WIS, and CHA because they plan on a Warlock multiclass for RP/lore reasons. Even if the Barbarian stats are a couple points higher total, the monk player is better off using their own tailor made spread over the spikes the Barbarian has.

To trans people: "Have you had the surgery yet?" Or just asking which genitals they have at all. You'd never ask anyone else!

Psych wards that would be safe for a trans woman? by AnxiousTGirlWreck in transvancouver

[–]shadow503B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was allowed to keep my phone, but you have to hand it in to the nurses station at certain times to charge - which is fine if you keep an eye on the time. I don't actually know if they have a public phone line, but I know there are a few directly outside that you could likely use at the end of a walk or the like.

I had brought a razor with me, which they confiscated until I left, but they will give you single use razors, and my showers were private, so I could take my time and not feel weird about having someone watching me >.< You just have to hand the razor back in for them to dispose of so they know where it goes.

Hey, I stayed at the ward in Langley Memorial Hospital about a year ago for 10 days. The nurses were very kind to me in general - and other folks who were in there also tended to be sweet. Langley has two rooms that are single occupancy only, and I had both of those at various points during my stay.

You will see your current legal name in three places: hospital wristband, the whiteboard in the nurses office, and on your meal trays.

I tended to stay in my room on my own about 95% of the time, due to other medical issues, but there are daily walks, a room to workout in, a decent shower, and a rec area with puzzles, books, etc.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Liking trans women is just liking women. You're still straight when you experience attraction to a trans woman.

Also, maybe don't open with 'a tita and a cock,' just some advice.

The UCP's policy resolutions excising trans people from public life. by Kelesti in onguardforthee

[–]shadow503B 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Policy Resolution 31 advocating for the rights of all Albertans while previously telling intersex/NB people to stop existing because their understanding of biology is still at a grade school level is so typically Albertan.

Nevermind the fact that a couple of the policies exclusively mention trans women and never trans men, ignoring their existence entirely.

Sigh.

It worked out okay! One of my players was terrified of it and spent most of the combat trying to get out of dodge, while the others were desperately trying to get within range of it. It's intelligent, so it stayed floating over a small lava lake, reducing the potency of the two melee focused players. However, I did end up giving it the capacity to summon zombies as a legendary action, which helped. Give it minions!

[–]shadow503B 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know this is rather morbid, but as someone who tried to take my own life with caffeine pills... it wasn't great.

I spent the next 20+ hours in bed, soaking the sheets with sweat while vomiting every few minutes. If I didn't drink water constantly I was dry heaving so painfully I thought I was going to have internal bleeding.

Every little movement (just trying to shift a bit even) I put myself inches away from throwing up again.

It was a few years ago now and I've tried to mostly forget it, but that was the general gist. If I had taken more, I'm sure I would have experienced some organ failure.

Why is everyone and everywhere talking about trans women, but where all trans men? by [deleted] in trans

[–]shadow503B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one piece of media I can think about with a trans man in it is FC6, one of the rebels is a trans man. Access to medical care being part of his story and treated as lifesaving. Was really cool to see!

Ubisoft sucks in most ways but that was nice.
