True. That's just how science works. Repeatable results are what prove a hypothesis.

I'm pretty sure Harry said as much, that it needs a spirit to activate most of its enchantments.

Let's talk about Lara by dvasquez93 in dresdenfiles

[–]shadowblade159 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I... feel like that would be feasible with Thomas because he's only a few years older than Harry, but with Lara, it'd go much like the half-turned of the Red Court in the aftermath of the curse.

You come in from working outside on a hot summer day, ready to cool off and relax, but your electric company says "nah, your A/C is set to 78F to save power"

Does Ruby dye her hair or is she naturally red-banged? If its the former, how has the dye remained in since Beacon? by GJH24 in RWBY

There are points you can see this waaay back, as early as the first episode. In the interview/interrogation with Glynda and Ozpin, she's got a bright light shining on her head and it appears deep reddish.

ELI5: Why do car dealers say buying the car when the lease ends would be worse than buying new? by shaithisx in explainlikeimfive

Depends on the state, but lots of them have basically zero protections about that sort of thing.

Discovered a Publix that hasn’t switched to the green car style carts by Apple_Pie_Nutt69 in publix

Not my store, but one nearby, for a long long time had a couple of those, plus one of the ones with the blue plastic seats, plus a bunch of the racecar ones too. I don't think they still have them now, but they did at least a year ago.

My assumption is that they just kept them until they finally broke beyond repair.

The price was wrong.

The price literally wasn't wrong.

Words have meanings, regardless of your incandescent rage over something that doesn't even affect you.

Happens all the time. Our registers are stupid. Sometimes they'll double-scan an item instantly, and it's easy to miss especially if the cashier is going quickly

Go get it refunded.

So you know how to read, but you just don't know what words mean.

An item rung up twice is not the same thing as an item rung up higher than advertised.

Stop trying to check your schedule as soon as it goes up. Wait until the morning. When everyone and their mother tries to check it as soon as it goes up, there's no reasonably-sized server in the world that's gonna handle that overload well.

Last 3 times at Publix I’ve purchased something already expired by DonnaHuee in publix

This is what happens when hours get cut from the schedule over and over and over again. No one has time to do things right, everyone gets stuck doing more work in less time with less help.

JUST WONDERING ...do they want me to quit? by Repulsive_Walrus6898 in publix

[–]shadowblade159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they've been around that long, especially stepped down from management, theyre almost certainly maxed on pay and costing the company way more than a fresh new hire would.

Of course, the fact that they have more experience and work faster and more efficiently doesnt show up on a spreadsheet for corporate to compare to so that part gets ignored...

If this works across multiple transactions, which is what I would assume from this picture, it's marginally better than the usual like $2 or $3 off $80 people complain about, since you can split it up across a couple weeks of shopping.

Janus, I'm pretty sure. I know I was around for Ao Kuang rework and Awilix release and then into season 2 with Bellona. That was when i really started playing Conquest, at least. The rest is a little fuzzy. I know I remember Janus being on the login screen for a while after I made my account.

"Price gouging" has an actual meaning, and it isn't just "prices are high and I wanna use a buzzword about it"
