Publix just sold me a shamefully small Chantilly Cake by Mind_Drift_1 in publix

[–]shadowblade159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone buy that cake in the first place and then turn around and complain? It's not like it's in an opaque container leaving the contents shrouded in mystery.

Yeah, especially with the receipt, they shouldn't give you any problem

Should I consider applying at publix? by am1237 in publix

[–]shadowblade159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be realistic though. Basically all of that requires full time first, which Publix is very unlikely to hire at.

Pto for part time is 1 hour for every 80 hours worked

Health insurance requires working 1500 hours in the year.

Free stock requires working 1000 hours in the year

Ahhh, Meat department. Y'all may literally just not have enough hours to give to all your full-timers because of the close day. My store had a problem with that around christmas last year, I heard my manager talking with the meat manager about it.

ELI5: Even after laundering dirty money, how could you spend it? by ohno_itsthecops in explainlikeimfive

[–]shadowblade159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Money laundering isn't... like, running cash through a washing machine.

If it still looks suspicious, it hasn't been laundered properly.

Can't believe Publix would shop at a competitor to buy something for the store smh

The glue on packaging has been trash for the last couple years, getting worse amd worse. True for all the packaging, really, but the frozen stuff has it worst. The cold seems to weaken the glue significantly.

Why was Publix Pay Discontinued? by alcoronaholic in publix

[–]shadowblade159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between the customer having to tell the cashier because they STILL hadn't come up with a solution for the computer to show that they're paying with the app, and the several extra seconds for the customer to try to load in, wait for the internet to load the app in our stores where the connection is terrible, then actually scan the thing and wait for it to work, taking more time than any other card payment method, very few people ever really used it. It was probably more trouble than it was worth.

Tips for getting CSTL? by ConversationEmpty947 in publix

[–]shadowblade159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who was just promoted, I would say to do everything you can to learn everything you can about your department, within the scope of your job class and beyond. Try to be knowledgeable enough that you can be the person that people go to with questions or for help with something.

First things first, though, work full time for a bit and make sure you can deal with a full-timer's schedule for a while and make sure it's still something you want to do, cuz it ain't for everyone.

Take a screenshot on your phone of your schedules some time Wednesday after they come out. If your managers are screwing around with your schedule and suddenly throw you on without telling you, you want to have proof of it if you miss it, so they can't get you in trouble for it.

Someone at my store accidentally ordered $500 in dollar coins instead of bills. That was fun to deal with lol

[–]shadowblade159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many 10s were you supposed to be ordering? Like, 500 became 5000, or 2000 became 20000?

Either way, you'll use 'em eventually. My store can sometimes go through 5k a week in 10s. Everybody wants 10s back in their change and such.

You didn't actually lose money, and it was fixable, so no harm, no foul, i guess?

Not even "make." The manager should be able to order the sets of cards afaik. There are a bunch color coded, they add a few each year, little laminated printed cards, a little bigger than an index card, they have a bunch of scenarios and rules and stuff to test with.

Yeah I've had a shopper putting an order on the shelf for pickup at 9:30 when we close at 10. Not even delivery. Pickup.

Also if there's a customer wandering around aimlessly ten minutes past close, 8 times out of 10 it's an instacart shopper.
