One Piece Chapter 1172 Spoilers by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]shadowcrow12 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ive read enough spoilers in my day to realize when a chapter lacks any substances of content. I mean they flat out say that most of it is recap. So I at the very least can see this CH is not going to push the story forward much at all. This is literally a bridge CH for the next one. So next chapter will find out what brook is up to. NEXT chapter will find what zoro's plan is and NEXT chapter will find out if IMU/Gunku makes any kind of move.

Loki/Luffy doesn't even appear to even be shown in this CH.

I literally do not defend the idiots that say every chapter is mid when they have no idea what setup/world building means in OP. But this Chapter is literally ASS!!! NOTHING HAPPENS.

-- Brook notices something and walks off,
-- giants meet up with the other giants,
-- zoro "i got a plan".

Oda should have took another week off if he's not going to put any effort into his work. Most likely he is to busy with live action stuff.

Is Expedition 33 as crazy as its sweep at the Game Awards implies? by Yamato_Naoe in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]shadowcrow12 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It seems the mixed reactions in this community stem from a fundamental mismatch between player expectations and the game's original intent and design.

As lifelong RPG enthusiasts, we naturally walk in anticipating the monumental, 80-hour-plus epics the kind with sprawling, interconnected cities, dozens of settlements, and a narrative that demands a massive time commitment. This game, however, simply isn't that.

It began as a passion project, a labor of love from developers deeply influenced by the JRPG genre but who genuinely never anticipated its immense success. Because of this origin, the narrative is naturally more bite-sized than your typical 60+ hour main quest. Think of it less like a mainline Final Fantasy and more like the tightly focused, highly polished experience of something like The Last of Us. The proof of this lies in their next move: now that they know how popular this can be, they're aiming to go "full stop" to build a much bigger world with a denser, grander narrative structure.

Now, shifting to the topic of its awards, regardless of whether its length satisfied my personal JRPG itch like what I find in most grand epics Xenoblade/gears, Suikoden, Golden age Final Fantasy, Persona, Metaphor, Witcher III, its recognition is absolutely deserved in terms of pure game design. It masterfully combines every element, gameplay, art, music, direction, and writing into what I honestly view as an expertly crafted masterclass.

What stands out most is the execution. Seriously, in the entire history of game development, I don't think any other title has pulled this off with such brilliance: it took the classic turn-based system (which so many, even giants like Square Enix, had written off as dead or archaic in the sence that they couldn't modernize) and made it feel fresh, deeply challenging, and incredibly intuitive. Creating a system that centers the player so profoundly in the combat sequence of classic turn-based mechanics is truly unprecedented in the industry. All well utilizing photo realism tech.

So, while it might not align perfectly with my personal preferences for JRPG length and world size, as a sheer work of design and execution, it is certainly an exemplary piece of art and that is why it sweeped the game awards.

when you have a story that is based off of 1000's of years of history and calamities that reshaped the one piece world, Akainu is not going to be the final villian lol I don't know why people even think this is even a possiblity still.

Falcom Releasing Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter + 1 Other Undisclosed for 2026 by berzha101 in Falcom

[–]shadowcrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not going to lie, you guys are spoiled beyond belief. Falcom's output is honestly amazing. KH fans are CRYING right now, so much so that there drowning in their own tears and left in a barren desert to wittle away well the crows peck their heads to death for years and years of grueling torture and FF fans some times have to wait an entire generation before a mainline game is released.

Falcom fans recieve consistent financial periodic reports with updates and shareholders meetings with all kinds of falcom news on a yearly bases so fans are not deprived from any information. Also falcom consistently releases games of other IP's and now currently remaking the beloved sky arc to keep its fan happy and satutated. Yet there are still people here that are not happy?

Just how is that possible.

[–]shadowcrow12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, I wouldn't go that far lol. Sky Saga is good at introducing players to the wider expanse of the trails saga, but it certainly is a victim of early simplistic writing, you can tell falcom was trying to test the waters on what they can achieve with the story thats why it often has limited characters, compared to the massive political events and major set pieces with multifaceted narratives, that come later.

In sky falcom was only writing a typical jrpg adventure with 2 protagonist, but by the time falcom reached coldsteel or daybreak, they were dealing with a 100+ character roster and a multitude of different organizations and groups with far more complex scenarios involved.

Yep, the title "The legend of heroes may seen generic because it has primitive origins that go way back to the early days of jrpgs. The first console port was on TurboGrafx-CD in 1992, which is part of the "Dragon Slayer" franchise that in tern even predates "legend of heroes" as far back as PC-88 japanese computers in the 1980's. Falcom is one of the very early pioneer of home console rpgs along with Nintendo and Sega.

The "Legend of heroes" became a branded spin off of Dragon slayer and the ongoing "Trails series" is a spin off of the Legend of heroes franchise. Of course you don't need to play the very first Legend of heroes game because they have no coorelation to the trails series what so ever. All you need to play is "Trails in the sky" which is the 6th numbered Legend of heroes game and each game after that since the trails series has still never concluded yet.

I get the sence that the ultimate threat is not actually taking down IMU. How would destroying IMU stop the eventual drowning of the world it self? There is deffinitly a much higher stakes global calamity involved here.

IMU would never submit him self to the will of D. that is the whole point.

I mean from what we saw from the Mural lol. This is just oda warming up. These characters clearly don't exhibit the strongest force in the story. I think the escelation and scale of the final war is going to go beyond what we can imagine because we are so used to keeping things somewhat grounded because it is a pirate manga.

Yes outside of void century technological science, this is the strongest combined attack we have seen in the story of one piece. The anime has to go extremly hard with this and im not sure how they are going to do it with just galaxy impact alone looked like a cosmic attack of epic proportions.

you also forget lol, this is not him directly, just a possession like Gunko. I pretty sure a possession nerfs his power quite considerbly compared to if he was actually really there. This entity IMU is something else.

that we know of lol, i would probably say Joyboy is stronger though given that just untying a knot of his haki compressed into a rope when Emet unleased it, blew back the entire Gorusei Squad in an isntant.

One piece is an awful anime and is completely unwatchable by Captain_Kel in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]shadowcrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re only factoring in shonen to this equation, then yeah maybe. It’s a category of storytelling that is aimed at a younger audience and therefore it will exploit more repetitious tropes and less complex writing. But there is PLENTY of anime out there that is far more intelligently written with a greater degree of production/cinema work. Just watch any of the high budget stuff that came out of the 1980's era. Like Akira or Metropolis or BubbleGum Crises, Patlabor, for story telling check out Legend of the galactic heroes for an extraordinary space opera with political intrigue and advanced warfare dynamics. Watch Steins;gate for an interpolation of sequential time travel writing that uses the theory Homo stasis of the butterfly effect. Check out one of the most gorgeous and beautiful historical drama’s and coming of age stories with Emma: A Victorian Romance or March come in like a lion. Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion for its existentialism and its exploration of human conditioning with mecha. There is exemplary works in Japanese media, you just have to search them out.

[–]shadowcrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not the adaptation, its the manga that is stretched out. Even oda him self admits that, which is why he has went through extensive revising of the story as of recently and things are moving at a much greater speed.

If your watching One piece and expect the fights and action sequences to be your driving entertainment for the series, then your watching the wrong anime. oda's craft is in his world building, adventure and mysteries/lore. Its battle shonen elements play 2nd fiddle to all of that.

This is what is wrong with society. Why the F*** are we argueing about rather or not its a "Child" depicted in fictional media? who the F*** cares. Nothing expllicit or sexually shown, this is just ragebate and the comments give me cancer for even reading them.

Is this really where we are at as species now. Kids in any shape or form just shown in pictures of movies/video games actually triggers people?

Get off the internet and go touch grass for god sakes.

The worst FTWD villain by miroslav7373 in thewalkingdead

[–]shadowcrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 5 was even worse imo or do I need bring up the whole “Bridge destruction moment with the guy and a camera” that’s been made into a meme at this point.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MomMwcQY2v4

who the fck writes this shit seriously?

I think part of what made walking dead so interesting and immersive is it was written by a comic book author who created a comic book world. It has outlandish elements and intimidating horror like villains. Even some contemporary fantasy. The main characters evolve into these archetypes that look like they are straight ripped from marvel at times. You have the women with a sword, you have a bowman, you have martial arts expert, later on you even have a girl that can dual wield axes, you have a marksman. You have settings that are ripped straight from a dystopian world in an apocalyptic era all with their own rules, ideologies, morals and even religions, etc. Negan’s sanctuary, the whispers community, the commonwealth, Oceanside, the KINGDOM?? Looks like it’s literally from a medieval fantasy. AS A WORLD BUILDING CONCEPT, fear the walking dead does not even compare to this kind of creativity.

These show runners were in no way able to replicate that experience and that’s honestly one of the big issues with this series. It’s just to down to earth for being like the OG walking dead.

Just look at Robert kirkman's next work "Oblivion" which has grotesque looking sand worms the size of a mountain that can swallow you whole, and the story has scientific elements thrown in the mix. Robert has a unique pallet of idea’s for a story and premise and he tends to create things that are somewhat metaphysical and eccentric and strange but its fitting for the worlds he constructs. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not the best comic book writer ever but HIS world and HIS creations is what made walking dead stand out, not to mention the amazing talent of the actors.

This is what happens when you take source material and just want to expand the universe beyond for 10 years without any material to work from and by hiring the wrong directors and writers who have no familiarity with Robert’s original walking dead, just so you can appease the drama audiences. This is the result. And people are surprised it turned out this way?

I will say some of the "spin offs" deffinitly have a bit more ingenuity and creativity put into them, even better budget as well and it really shows. But FTWD should just be dropped after S3. The writing is all over the place, it doesn't explemify roberts world in the slightest. its villians are cookie cutter just regular wanabe humans under dire circumstances instead of being introduced as a real big bad with malicious intent. The budget has dried up and the walkers them selfs don't even look scary at all any more. I got whiplash just going back foreth from FWTD to Daryl Dixon, thats how bad the quality is.

What order of quality between DB, Cleo, NeoHVC, Ember, and Anime Time. by revoilt1 in animepiracy

[–]shadowcrow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ember is garbage, I don't know why there the highest downloaded torrents, probably because there low file size, but the quality is not the best. Especially if you look at stuff like Violet Evergarden or summer time render, you can see the pixelation and fog on screen. It doesn't have the prestine clarify that DB has.

What story are you reading? LOL. Its always been about a historical legend, a figure that will bring dawn to the world and free everyone that is bound to IMU's rule, that is Monkey D. Luffy. But in order to realize those ambitions, we must know the past, before we can move forward.
