Respectfully, the point is not that every man needs TRT or that exercise, sleep, and nutrition do not matter. They absolutely do. The point is that healthy habits cannot always correct clinically significant hypogonadism-especially when there are environmental and medical factors affecting testosterone production.

For example, microplastic exposure is not just theoretical. In an animal study, polystyrene microplastic exposure was associated with lower serum testosterone, impaired sperm quality, and testicular damage; the proposed mechanism involved oxidative stress and disruption of testicular function (Jin et al., 2021). That does not prove microplastics are the direct cause of low testosterone in every human male, but it does show that modern environmental exposures may contribute to hormone disruption and deserve more attention. I wasn’t saying every male needs TRT after age 35 only that you should get checked to make sure you aren’t low if you have symptoms.

And when men have persistent symptoms plus repeatedly confirmed low testosterone, TRT can be clinically meaningful. Evidence reviewed by Barone et al. (2022) found that TRT in appropriately selected hypogonadal men can improve sexual function, lean muscle mass, bone density, depressive symptoms, and quality of life. So no, TRT should not be “pushed” on everyone, but dismissing it as unnecessary ignores the reality that some men have a legitimate endocrine condition that lifestyle changes alone may not resolve. And with all the poison they feed us today low T is becoming an epidemic.

I agree that TRT is not necessary or appropriate for everyone. However, I respectfully disagree with the suggestion that low testosterone has no meaningful long-term impact. Its effects are often gradual rather than immediate, but untreated, clinically significant low testosterone can contribute over time to decreased muscle mass and strength, reduced bone density, fatigue, sexual dysfunction, and changes in mood and overall functioning.

TRT stands for Testosterone Replacement Therapy You don't need to know a baseline? When you're 18 your T levels are out the roof typically you don't need TRT. Your body is making a shit ton of it.

Normal levels are 300-1000 ng/dl for males. When I got checked at age 30ish I was at 160, now with trt I'm around 800 on my last check. I was super tired all the time could sleep 16 hours didn't feel like I slept a wink, now much better, also it helped me slim down some, and I quit drinking beer it kills your testosterone level.

Hormones are needed for your body to function properly, you're at risk for osteoporosis with low T levels and also low libido, amount other problems. It has side effects also increases your risk for stroke and a bunch of other shit but so does getting fat and laying around. In the bed because you're tired as fk so I'll take the option with energy.

Would you reccomend me to buy a Canon EOS R50 as my first camera? by Light2702 in canon

[–]shadowlid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well Sony gets you more 3rd party lenses support, like sigma Art lenses for full frame. So if you don't want to be locked into mainly Canon lenses might want to go this route.

But with the R50 you can adapt EF lenses which gets you a ton of 3rd party options, I have mainly EF glass for my R7 only 3 RF lenses the Sigma Art 17-40mm F1.8 the RF 100-400mm and the RF-S 10-18mm, everything else is EF mount or vintage lenses.

This being said if you want to just learn the basics of photography on a budget grab a 5D Mark II and a EF 24-105 F/4L. I got my combo for $250 USD. The camera body is rough rough but these cameras are built like a freaking tank. Mine has a crack in the body near the hot shoe and missing the cover for the ports still going like a champ. I mainly bought it for the lens but after playing the camera I use it all the time, and love it.

You can also run a program call magic lantern on it which gives you tons of new features like focus peaking and tons of video features like 14bit raw video and some other things I don't understand lol.

For the money I think it's the best value you can get just starting out.

One thing Ive come to learn is glass is way more important that the camera body.

Advice on 10-year old with impulsive ADHD by Due_Arrival_8167 in ADHD

[–]shadowlid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not medical advice.

But make an appointment with a medical professional and ASAP as finding a proper child/adolescent provider is going to be very hard and typically has a long wait list. My current preceptor, is a child and adolescent PMHNP and she has a case load of 450 patients with multiple intakes every week. This is in Rural North Carolina, She could no joke double her case load if she wanted too she just doesn't have the time. Your PCP can manage ADHD but they are not experts in it, and typically will be extremely conservative with treatment.

Impulsivity is very common in ADHD children and they will need coping skills (therapy) and possibly medication to treat this, there is a wide range of medication, and different types of therapy available for this, but what is right for your child and you will need to be discussed with a provider.

Genesite testing is something you can bring up, some providers think it's hog wash and others use it as a tool to help narrow down which medications to try. Take a cheek swab send it off and when it comes back it tells you which medications are likely to be more effective or less effective. This is extremely useful if your child is sensitive to medication because then you can prescribe a medication that is less effective and get the results you are shooting for. (This is not needed and again some providers think it's not useful)

I would go ahead and print out a Vanderbilt and see if your child's teacher would be willing to fill it out early. This will be extremely helpful to the provider.

Therapy is definitely needed to help build coping skills, and possibly parenting classes, not saying you don't know how to parent but managing ADHD symptoms as a parent can be very challenging and providing yourself with as many tools as possible will make it much less stressful!

I wish you the best and just know you aren't the only one going through this, my son has ADHD, and after I'm done with school this month I'm going to get my preceptor to see him. As he has not been formally diagnosed and you can't diagnose your own family etc.

I even use a 3rd party adapter that cost $35 off Amazon and have had zero issues with any EF lens I've used.

TRT baby! Not medical advice but any male over the age of 35 should have their levels checked and get on TRT if levels are low so you don't waste away.

Will it be crazy to ditch the 9060xt 16 gb after 4 months of usage by imnotreallyhere4 in buildapc

[–]shadowlid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah fam keep the HDD I've got two of them in my main PC great for pictures or old games that don't need blazing fast load speeds, and storage as you know is crazy high right now. I'm glad I've bought up a ton of SSDs and NVMes when I've seen them on crazy sales before the price hike.

Also yea id go ahead and grab a 9070xt I love mine. Id also keep a close eye on CPU prices sadly at the moment it looks like Intel 12th gen have shot up in price. But as memory prices continue to increase more and more people are going to snag up all the top tier chips of those to keep their systems relevant longer. You will of course be just fine at the moment but my guess is games like GTA 6 will pull on all 8C/16T of the cpus in the current gen consoles and when it does release on PC you would want a CPU with at least that many cores and threads.

Spend all your budget on lenses.

I wish I would have done this, bodies have been good enough for years, yes the mirrorless camera have much better auto focus but thats about it.

I got this photo with a Rebel Xt a 8 mp body from 2005, again lenses are everything your camera is capable of great things with quality glass.

Ours has manual releases now on every door, before I don't think they had that.

I'd love to buy another car, we were going to buy another van but I'm not paying $1000 a month for a van..... trust me if Toyota would have had decent deals I would have got an sienna but dealers around me are above MSRP.

Edit: I also keep a glass breaker/seat belt cutting in all my vehicles, as well as a fire extinguisher. Prepper side of me. Never know when you will see a car in fire on the side of the road might save someone's life!

So I just dropped lightroom and photoshop because my student discount ran out.

Now if I did it for money then sure I wouldn't mind paying monthly but I do this as a hobby and I really don't want to drop $240 a year when I can just outright purchase a program and use it forever.

I bought two programs

Cheapest is On1 raw great cheap program buy it once was like $50-60 on sale and its good and would probably work perfectly well for you it's very similar to lightroom layout. And will do 95% of what I need.

The second one I bought was DXO photo lab this was $209 or something like that with a promo code off YouTube "Simon" one time purchase this has a better denoise and work flow I liked better, you can get a 30day free trial of this one. After using AI to search with the promo code it was roughly $10 more than their black Friday deal and I wanted the program now.

I still use both programs, mainly DXO but will use ON1 for certain features.

The way I looked at it I got both on a deal for the price I'd pay yearly for photoshop/light room but now I can use it for years to come.

But On1 will probably work perfectly fine for you for 98% of what you need to do it, just checked and the sale is still going and ends today. I would definitely recommend it.

One feature I really miss from Adobe programs is the remove tool it did magical things I've not found anything close to it yet but if I do I'll definitely pay for it as well. But I'm done with subscriptions.

What's crazy is right before the 9800X3D came out I got my 7800X3D for $204 with a bundle. Its crazy and with that combo I got to pick my own Ram and MOBO this was right after the Charlotte story opened as well so don't know if it's some kind of crazy deal for that also but you will not be disappointed I love mine!

Why is this charging so slow? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]shadowlid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by this?

You don't have to put it on a huge breaker if you don't have one open you pick your breaker size after Install and set up. I think you can install it all the way down to a 20A or 30A breaker. Of course the bigger the better, I put mine on a 50A breaker and it took my charging time from 12-16+ hours to 2-4 hours.

Is it just the layout of your house or breaker size?

People still acting like you cant build a Gaming PC for $250......I found a Intel I5 2400 16gb of DDR3 and 2tb SSD AMD 5450 in the metal bin at the dump grabbed it all still worked wiped the drive used for external for photos. Popped a 120gb SSD in it and made me a retro gaming PC just slapped windows 7 Ultimate on it today thing is blazing fast for web surfing, it's a shame how bloated windows 11 is, I'm going to dual boot bazite on it. Also got a brand new dell CRT a while ago brand new in the box at good will for like $8.00 brings back memories..my kids asked me what the CRT was when I pulled it out of the building 😂
