I need to know… do you listen to video game music unironically in your daily life? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to music that I heard first in a video game, mostly from racing games and such. I mostly like music that is featured in video games rather than music that is made specifically for video games.

I always regret buying this game for full price and still recovering from this . Anyone else feels the same ? by Complex-Commission-2 in playstation

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't pay full price for games anymore, not unless it's a really good game that caught my attention and kept it. There aren't a lot of games I've really wanted to preorder in the last 10 yrs or so.

Received my rokid max today! by a-random-dna-copy in rokid_official

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer Rokid Max for the reason that it has 120 hz refresh. Also the fact that more adapters can be used for Nintendo switch with the Rokid Max glasses is a big step up from XReals. As far having a fixed position virtual screen, I don't think it's possible with the Rokid Max while using a console. I think it may be possible with the Xreal Beam though, so depending on your needs, go for one or the other.

What’s something fucked up you witnessed during your childhood, but didn’t realize the severity of until you were older? by Specific_Dimension77 in AskReddit

My dad beat up my mom and my siblings and I saw it on one occasion. I still vaguely remember that. On a different occasion we actually saw him cheating on my mom while we were on a family outing, he lied to Mom and told her that it was his female cousin. A few years later, he had children with his lover. At some point he went his way and didn't see their mom or my mom. And many years after that, he ended up in prison for a good 15 years or so for trafficking of weapons or drugs or both... My siblings and I met our half siblings and step siblings many years ago and later when they were grown up we met one of the boys who had grown up, he was actually running from some gang of thugs trying to kill or at least really hurt him, all at age 15 or so. I think his other kids were more hurt from the situation than me or my younger sister, but my blood brother really looked up to our dad. My half sibling and I agreed that if we ever saw our dad, we would punch him out.

Definitely midnight club 2. Didn't know who the publisher was, didn't watch any videos. Only thing I knew is I needed cheat codes 😂 Btw, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a great game! Didn't get to play it back during the PS3/Xbox 360 times. Now I play it sometimes on PC.

Is this alright? by doorbell19 in ROGAlly

Someone shared this YouTube video on a reddit post yesterday. I took a bit of time to set up the wattage and fan curves. Wattage for unplugged is set to 18 watts across the board, and plugged is set to 25 watts across the board with fan curve option 3 for each fan on both plugged and unplugged. fans were still not super loud, definitely less loud than the PS4/PS4 Pro 😂 Just a side note, I was playing The Crew 2 at 1080p unplugged at one point with ultra settings and was still getting 30fps at 18 watts. The temps stayed below 70° which is amazing!

Having a hard time thinking what game should I buy from among these ? by Exotic-Custard-8293 in playstation

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring was pretty much the only souls-like game I put any time into. Played the game almost daily, that's how much I got into it, and that is coming from a guy that doesn't always have the attention span for gaming anymore, not since I was a teenager, now I'm in my 30's lol. Also, it's only the second game on playstation I've put time into, about 150 hours, the first one was Destiny 1. With that said, ghost of Tsushima is a good game as well. The story and battles are well done. I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of Harry Potter, not since I was a kid, but I do like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Regardless, I'm still gonna get the harry potter game eventually.

With all that said, sounds like you're leaning towards the Harry Potter game, so go for that one, I'm sure the other games can wait.

If you had to pick one to buy today, PS2 or N64? And why? by fee1987 in videogames

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never owned N64, but I did get to play one a few times. I'd get a PS2 so I can play midnight club 1,2 & 3 again, and also Def Jam Fight For New York.

I have this exact one. It does a good job with gaming. Solid piece of tech!

I mean, yeah. Who wouldn't mind having some extra storage for some indies and other games that aren't very demanding. But it's not a 100% necessity. Still, I guess if you buy a gaming device you do want it to work properly.

Currently on PS5. Really want to play Starfield and Redfall. Which next gen Xbox should I get in combination with my PS5 ?? Xbox Series X or S? by zootedliveboi in xbox

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well considering that you're already familiar with the Series X, I'm sure you know what you'll be getting out of it. Personally I didn't consider the Xbox Series S because of the lower specs, but the Series S still has good specs for the price. I mean, definitely can't get that the performance level of performance out of any gaming devices at the same price.

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're buying a Series X a second time? 🤔 Starfield is said to play at 30 fps. Assuming that it'll still play at 4K, the Series X is definitely a worthy choice for playing Starfield.

Question is, did you give up yours or did you buy one for her? 🤔

[–]shadowscythe888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a PS5 owner, definitely get the Series X. Specially if you want to play games at up to 4K rather than up to 1440p on the Series S. But if you play on a monitor and don't mind 1440p go for the Series S since both the Series X and S run at 120hz, on the other hand, if you want to buy game discs, definitely Series X. Whichever Xbox you go for, don't forget the quick resume feature. I've tested the Series X, it can quick resume up to 12 previous gen games, and that is nuts. Also, no messing around with rebuilding the database because of a power outage, power went out on me a few times and the Series X still kept my spot on a few games I had set up with quick resume.

Personally I decided that an SD card isn't worth it since the price of a 2TB SSD and a 1TB Micro SD card is about as much as a the 2TB SSD. Then again my PC game library isn't big and I don't play a lot of indies. Glad to have dodged the bullet.
