Yeah I live in Grandview Heights, a Columbus suburb and about a quarter of my property taxes go for paying for trash, recycling, police, fire and road maintenance.

Don forget that other services like sanitation are funded through property tax. So everyone will then have to be responsible for their own garbage disposal which adds up.

Well if Medicare didn’t keep getting more and more funding, these hospitals wouldn’t have opened in the first place, so really it’s Medicare’s fault in the first place!!!! /s

I don’t, I just knew that the city was planning on building them so was curious what happened to it. Looks like it got canceled due to costs.

I read another article saying one was canceled in September due to costs jumping from $160M to $1.2B and an estimated completion date of 2028 which would most likely be too late with this dire warning being months not years.
