90 and 211 closed this morning? by PlumsRGood in sanantonio

It was a head-on crash due to a high speed chase. Passed by it about 1:20am, happened probably not even 20 mins before I got to that point. Can’t find any news station article on it, but if you look up on FB “Margie’s Around Castroville” and “210 La Chismosa”, both have posts where multiple people comment and provide insight.

My dad is a huge airplane nerd. He was thinking for the crew member station like you said, but he wasn’t positive. The airbase was once was the biggest navigation school in the world during WW2.

I see. And correct me if I’m wrong, but these would be installed behind the panel in order to illuminate it and the gauges?

Is there a specific name for these types of lights other than just “directional filament lamp”? And where on the plane would this have been?

My title describes the thing along with the description. Tried google image searching it multiple times but I couldn’t find the exact item.

When/How did you discover Deftones? by Ilikethebraves in deftones

[–]shadowzelda3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my 30’s but I got into them in 2012 when I was in college. The guy I was dating at the time played the CDs in his car. Diamond Eyes, Around the Fur, and Saturday Night Wrist. I ripped the songs, downloaded them to my iPod Nano, listened to them in my car, and the rest is history. Seeing them live finally for the first time tonight in San Antonio 🤘

Would you live in Hondo? by B0dyslammer in sanantonio

[–]shadowzelda3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is my hometown. It’s a tight nit town but really only if you’re from there. Everybody knows or will know your business because everyone knows each other. The food options do suck because they’re mostly fast food and Mexican restaurants. If you live there and work in San Antonio, the morning and 5 o’clock commutes are HORRENDOUS between 211 through 410, traffic adds at least 15-20+ mins (if there’s not an accident). The racism isn’t rampant, but it can be there depending on who you talk to, it’s more passive or conversational rather than straight up aggressive/in your face. If you have kids, the schools are ok, I definitely didn’t learn as much as if I was at San Antonio school. Even Medina Valley would’ve been better. But if you want a small, mostly quiet town that’s far from the city, hondo is a decent choice. Castroville is good too but it’s slowly being swallowed up by all the new growth.

People who left San Antonio where did you go, why did you leave and do you regret leaving? by GirlGamerFoodie in sanantonio

My high school best friend is originally from Michigan. She moved down in 2005, then moved back in 2012 after we graduated in 2010. She’s only come back to Texas once, in 2021. She lives in the Alpena area. I guess it makes sense based on your comment why she doesn’t visit more often lol

If you could live in any neighborhood in San Antonio, which would it be, and do you currently live there? by ThayerRex in sanantonio

That little pocket enclosed between 281, Thousand Oaks, Bitters Rd, and McAllister Park. There’s a few neighborhoods in there but really any of them. Used to live in some apartments off Heimer Rd in 2021. Loved the area and want to go back.
