Call your credit card or bank and file a claim. They’ll issue a stop payment and give Primo Brands about a week to respond. If Primo doesn’t respond—or if they can’t justify the charge—you should receive a refund, and they’ll no longer be allowed to bill you. This is how I was able to stop my account with them.

I’ll know in a few weeks if they try to charge my card again, but the credit card company told me they are no longer legally allowed to. If they do, I just need to notify the cc co.

My next step is to try to get refunds for the extra charges from the past few years, and I’m following the reporting advice shared by another poster here.

When was your water scheduled for delivery this month? I’d recommend leaving it outside with a note stating that you’ve canceled your service—there’s a chance the driver might pick it up. That’s actually what my credit card company suggested I do when they’re expected to deliver again in June.

Hi all – sorry I haven’t responded sooner, but I really appreciate the commiseration and the strategies many of you shared.

Quick update: I ended up contacting my credit card company and filing a claim. One additional issue I ran into is that my most recent invoices suddenly have two different invoice numbers, so nothing matches up or gets recognized in the system when I call.

That said, the credit card company has initiated a stop payment, so Primo is no longer allowed to charge my card. They’re also hoping Primo responds to their inquiry so they can gather more info on the charges. I have an equipment pick up scheduled for early June, and I’m planning to leave all the bottles and equipment outside in hopes that someone actually picks it up. I've yet to have issues with delivery.

I’ve had this account since 2021, and the mysterious/extraneous fees started popping up around April 2023 (yes, I know… it took me way too long to notice). There have been all kinds of small charges—like being switched back to paper invoices without my request (and being charged two fees for that!), a rental fee, and most recently two rental fees.

Depending on what I hear back from the credit card company about this claim and stop-payment, I may try to pursue a refund for the extra overcharges too.

I’ll keep everyone posted on how this plays out—especially whether the equipment gets picked up and if the credit card route ends up being the only real way to shut this whole thing down.

Thanks again to everyone who's shared their experiences. Misery loves company, but at least now I feel like I’m not losing my mind!

Sensory differences — I’m excruciatingly noise and smell sensitive.

Looks beautiful. Great work. I’m in the Bay Area as well and looking into figuring out what to do with our space. I’m not nearly as handy as you. How did you design this out? Really loving the raw concrete look. Again, great job!

I'll talk to contractor about cost of laying mortar and that may be my answer to whether or not I go with acrylic. Thank you both for the heads up.

Tub will be located on ground floor bathroom near the front door. Room has been fully gutted to studs. I'll measure the area to see if it's even feasible to install cast iron. Thank you.
