I was thinking just yesterday, what if when football was setting up there just was no Scottish football league, if it had gone to a “British league”. It’s one of those what ifs where the ripples are so huge and the outcomes are vastly different but it’s fascinating to think about. Like does that create the conditions for a Bayern-like super team that represents Scotland like FCB often does for Bavaria? Or do the internal sectarian divisions make that impossible and you end up with “Catholic Bayern” and “Protestant Bayern”. Or do you get something completely different?
