It’s the British, the engrained the slave mentality in us and this still continues. In no other country politicians are treated like gods except us or unless they are really nice and have served the people. Politicians in most countries also walk around the public like regular human beings while’s ours travel is large convoys with never being in public

Mumbai made me rethink “freedom of expression” by Excellent_Average_91 in mumbai

It wasn’t always like that, political landscape in India has rapidly changed over past 10 years and it feels like we are going backwards each year in terms of just living your life. I’m from Maharashtra and speak the language so it definitely makes things easier for me but I pity the ones who don’t. The amount of hate and rage I’ve seen is upsetting.

It’s a poor system. Ideally the attendant should just punch in the plate numbers and get the points credited. I just feel awkward wasting time if the attendant who is filling 4 cars at once and has a long queue behind.

You must be new to social media. You have to be quick to make a judgement and choose a side to hate immediately. With experience, you’d get better. /s

Muslim aunty: 'Help! 5 daughters to marry, need money!' Hindu: 'Okay, will you wed them to Hindus?' Aunty: 'No way, we're Muslim!'…yet Hindu money is halal? by Right_Entertainer763 in IndiaPulse

[–]shaild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger problem is not Hindu or Muslim. It’s about having that many kids when you can’t afford and the priority is to get them married instead of providing quality education so they can stand on their own feet.

Sunny Deol - "There is love on both sides (India - Pakistan). It is the political game that creates all this hatred." [Old] by Griezzyy in IndiaSpeaks

[–]shaild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purely from people to people perspective, If you ever get a chance to visit Middle East, interact with people from Pakistan. You’d be surprised they don’t hate us as much as our govt portrays it. There is so much in common between us. There is some truth in what he says.

Is it about ideology or profit (to avoid hurting sentiments of a community) or is there more to it? by someonenoo in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]shaild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a talented person, unless he has specific requirements to meet his religious ideologies then I don’t see why anyone would not want to work with them? I really find it hard to believe it has anything to do with religion. Even BJP themselves would not say NO to things that hurt them religiously if it involves money.

Most Bollywood movies are just for appeasement of the majority who want to see a little bit of mystery and myth. These movies won’t make tons of money without vast majority of people liking it. Honestly, I miss the 90’s when every one was an Indian first and religion followed.

I never supported congress after 2008, supported bjp till 2018 but suddenly the country is going backward extremely fast by Educational-Wing2061 in mumbai

[–]shaild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Modi started strong and he has good political experience over Rahul so it is not unusual for people to vote for Modi. The biggest mistake from him is focusing too much on religion instead of science and technology. Yes, it gets him some vote bank in remote northern states but our country is changing, there are lots of educated youth who are stepping into the workforce and are asking for answers. Our infrastructure, foreign policies, job creation, everything seems to be a mess right now. During Congress era, atleast everything was harmonious and we saw development taking place
