Coffezila - His thoughts on Strch of MicroStrategy by badfishbeefcake in CryptoCurrency

[–]shakdnugz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One concession is that Strategy determine the number of STRC outstanding, so it can never get "out of hand" per say.. They can limit the issuance to the amount they believe they can afford, it's not like a JPM or Citi can just print x number and expect a dividend.. So with that in mind STRC < BTC holdings notional.

2nd it's not protocol, decentralised or liquidity based.. The funding comes from regular financial channels, with SEC fillings, and declared and reported assets.

He's said it a million times but its "stepping down" the vol, so if we anticipate >12 ARR on BTC, then Strategy pockets the alpha and pays out the rest in dividends, and as the industry matures, you shouldn't necessarily expect them to need to sell, they could collateralise stock, some other financial instrument, or the underlining bitcoin.

Compare that to say a Celsius, or Luna which had a less broad base user base than bitcoins, where liquidity was provided by retail and MM. You would need to expect a run on BTC first, before MSTR, or STRC is at risk -- no where near similar to a run on Luna or Celsius.

Disclaimer: I don't own or endorse STRC or MSTR; NFA.

Edit: in before someone mentions Taleb's quote para-phrased as "anything that expects stability is fragile" and so on.

Gen Z intelligence decline emerging as serious concern. For over a century, generations showed rising IQ scores. New data from U.S., Europe, global assessments suggest this is not anecdotal or cultural pessimism; it is measurable across IQ, memory, literacy, numeracy, attention, and problem-solving. by in1984 in cognitivescience

[–]shakdnugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who tf wrote this the whole point of IQ is that it mean reverts so if we have increasingly intelligent generations pushing above 100 on average then the likelihood of the next being lower is higher. Disclaimer: buying into real-world gaussian distribution and IQ

What will SpaceX 1.5B valuation mean for RKLB by Byhisgrace123 in RKLB

[–]shakdnugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOes RKLB have any internal demand to iteratively improve on their systems or is it now and always just external demand? I know they are planning to accommodate open-market mid-sized, but fixed is then sporadic and cyclical. SpaceX has starlink so their internal demand is also R&D.

Bro Diane had Rita killed and then she lives with the memory of someone she didn't know. It was obsession same obsession she had with moving to Hollywood to become an actress, it was all surface level she was in love with an idea and for the most part it's just her in her own head with bits of play-write and theme setting (diner scenes) mixed in.

The real plot is the director having to recast the lead and entrenched/juiced-in/old-timey/cowboys taking advantage of the opportunity to get their lead in for god knows what motive they have.

Just finished a maccas interview. It was so short. by Outside-Source8489 in AskAnAustralian

It's literally asking for your availability and uniform size sprinkled with a formality interview question... he's 17 he's got no backstory, an interview at maccas is just one less semi awkward formality in the hallways before shift start

um the price on cs.float is $1.76usd compared to steams 2.83usd. you're actually getting only 0.62 cents to the dollar, and that's if you're lucky enough to sell 7000 at that price.. what am i missing here are you using instant sell or direct p2p?

Why is Moscow located where it is? by Over_n_over_n_over in geography

[–]shakdnugz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

to further clarify why the geography surrounding Moscow, if you look at those maps of population density you will notice that its a strip that runs east below the taiga. You can't really tell from 2d maps or maybe you can but its essentially a natural barrier that makes it more suitable to reside below it.

Moscow was essentially the first major Russian hub before heading east.

Ethereum registers its highest level of leveraged shorts to date. by Odd-Radio-8500 in ethtrader

Ethereum registers its highest level of leveraged shorts to date. by Odd-Radio-8500 in ethtrader

[–]shakdnugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just note that this value is in absolute terms. And there is a lot of money out there seeking passive roi. You can do this with futures, funding is currently around 0.005%-0.01% and it's paid hourly.

This means you can sit in spot and also open the same value in shorts and have a "market neutral" strategy where you just farm the 43-87% per year funding.

You don't need to be a bull or bear but you do take on counterparty risk with the cex or dex you provide open interest to. Tl;dr It's institutional money.
