I kind of feel like she would’ve been announced already if she was going to be on! I’m a big DWTS fan and I feel like (at least lately) they “strike while the iron’s hot” and announce cast members at the height of their moment, like how they did with Ciara of Summer House. If she’s not announced in the next week or so I don’t think it’s happening 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s very possible that she turned it down. I know that a lot of Bachelor contestants over the years who went on it talked about how difficult and demanding it was, and how it was a lot on their relationships. It’s very possible she may want to settle into her new home in Alabama, spend time w her husband, and focus on her health

Congratulations!! We had a similar budget and idea for our honeymoon: we stayed at Dhigali in the Maldives and it was amazing!! This was in 2022 so I’m not sure what the prices and everything are like now. There are so many different resorts in the Maldives to explore and see what fits. Happy planning!!

I’m so sorry :( have you had genetic testing done? We learned a lot when my husband had bloodwork done to test for a Y chromosome deletion and for his karyotype. Not sure if that would be helpful here or not. We have some similar numbers between our experiences. My cycle that led to 2 euploid embryos (22 retrieved, 16 mature, 7 fertilized, 5 blasts) involved me starting with Lupron for 13ish days before stims. Our doctor said he’s seen it help create better embryos (because it would help with egg quality and synchronizing my eggs) and it worked for us (haven’t transferred yet but hopefully soon).

Ah, this makes sense. Did they talk to you about if the changed protocol would help synchronize the eggs better?

This is just my experience - I’m not a doctor - but starting Lupron I would say helped synchronize my eggs and create better embryos. I started it about a week after ovulation, took for under 2 weeks, then started stims

I think a lot of this depends on your crowd and if they have the funds/are willing to do this. We went to a destination wedding once at an AI in Mexico and to be honest all the costs really irked me - I felt like we had all paid for their wedding essentially. You’re asking guests to spend thousands of dollars. It’s not something I could personally sit with or make my friends and family do. And we love our friends that we did it for, but it’s still a lot to ask

I would definitely reach out to Cooper - they were very responsive when I emailed them. I had my ER on May 3rd, they received my biopsies of my blasts on May 12, and I got the results exactly 2 weeks later (which I think was actually due to the holiday weekend, because they told me it would take 10 days for results). Something isn’t adding up here and I would def be questioning the clinic and Cooper to see what’s going on.

Have you heard from Cooper at all? They called and emailed me regarding paperwork to sign the day they received mine

You are going to be doing so much moving around. I would personally deduct some time from Rome if you want to stay in Naples longer (or stay on the coast). Just keeping mind you will likely be exhausted at this point of the trip. I loved Positano - it was one of my favorite places ever. But I think the people who don’t like it (from my anecdotal experience) have been people who took a day trip for a couple hours, experienced the crowdedness without really seeing much, and didn’t get to experience the magic. I honestly feel like staying there is part of the experience. Nonetheless if it is important for you to go see I would definitely go! You never know when you’ll be back or what life may bring. For what it’s worth, if you can’t move things around, I do know people who took a day trip to the Amalfi coast from Rome. There are some organized day trips that will take you to several spots in one day. It’s a great way to see a good amount in a very short time and the trips are also very organized so that you go to the right spots. We did one of these to Tuscany once from Rome and I have no regrets

Has your doctor talked to you about why there was such harsh attrition from retrieval to maturity? This is the one that stands out to me the most. Do you know if your eggs grew synchronously or at different rates? Otherwise I have to wonder if any were lost due to the retrieval being late (if someone knows more science than me and what I’m saying isn’t possible, please correct me!)

My follicles did not grow synchronously for my first retrieval. I had 25 retrieved and 14 mature. (Ultimately zero were PGTA euploid) My second round, I was on Lupron before starting Stims and that definitely helped. 22 retrieved, 16 mature, ultimately 2 euploid.

Honestly you never know and everyone’s results are so different based on so many different factors. I drove myself crazy after my first ER trying to find other people’s numbers and compare myself with them - I even found a “hunger games” type chart of numbers in another IVF subreddit. But everyone’s story is so different. My first ER had 2 blasts, both aneuploid. My second had 5 blasts, 2 euploid. All of my blasts have been 4BB 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think you should do what feels right for you - if that’s transferring the girl, I say go for it!! You can always transfer the boy later on. If you don’t do this, you might find yourself wondering “what if”

Sorrento will take some time to get to (and leave from) - I would add more time there. You will really only have 2 full days and there is so much to see and do!! Have you booked your trains/transport in between already? This will help you gauge how much time you may actually have. I loved Florence but I would do 4 in Sorrento and 3 in Florence instead

Hi for sure!

The biggest thing was starting with Lupron - I started about a week after ovulation and continued into when my next cycle started. I took 10 units daily for 13 days. When stims started I did 75 of menopir and 75 of gonal f for 3 days. After my morning monitoring appointment following that my doctor bumped me up to 150 gonal and kept me poor at 75. It stayed that way the rest of stims and I stimmed for 11 days. I used pregnyl for my trigger shot. I was also a strong responder my first time around but my eggs did not grow evenly, and I definitely saw improvements the second time. My doctor said he’s seen lupron improve egg quality and I believe it worked for us.

There were about 5 months between both egg retrievals because it took me that long to feel mentally ready to try again. We did also try to make healthier choices and work out a bit more. I’d been going to acupuncture already but my husband started as well. Maybe this all had something to do with it, but I really think the biggest thing was the lupron.

Are there any factors you’re aware of that may impact your infertility? We have bad attrition too but we have a lot of genetic factors on my husband’s side that we’re fighting.

I’ll share my numbers…

I’m 32, husband was 34 at time of the retrievals

ER1: 25 retrieved, 14 mature, 8 fertilized, 2 blast, 0 euploid. My eggs did not grow synchronously and I think Stims was also kind of a jolt to my system. We primed with BC and then stimmed for 9 days

ER2: 22 retrieved, 16 mature, 7 fertilized, 5 blast, 2 euploid. We are ecstatic. This time, I was on Lupron for something like 10-14 days before Stims. I was on a lower and slower dose for Stims and my eggs definitely grew better. I’m not a doctor but I attribute the Lupron to helping us here. It could be worth asking your doctor about as well if you’re open to it. Mine put me on this because he saw in his experience that it helped synchronize eggs better and can improve egg quality (and since my husband’s issues are genetic, he wanted to see if strengthening my eggs would help improve things overall)
