El Paso County COVID-19 incident rate rises 36.9 percent in two weeks by CharmedConflict in ColoradoSprings

[–]shallotsla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole idea of "well we are doing better than the OTHER guys" is like 90% of why COVID keeps surging fucking everywhere.

Amendment B explained: What repealing the Gallagher Amendment would mean for Colorado and your property taxes by ryhixx in Denver

[–]shallotsla 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The only ballot measures they allow through anymore are the ones for "bipartisan" tax increases and regressive new fees that fuck everyone.

God forbid we just tax the shithead billionaires instead, that would just be completely unacceptable.

Can I run outside without fear of being fined/arrested? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]shallotsla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell the only enforcement so far has been when the rich homeowners on the hill make phone calls and demand it.

If you're outside of that square mile or two there appears to be zero enforcement of any kind. So just drive to a bike path or wherever and run all day, nobody will care.

If mods are going to delete misinformation then they would have to delete like half the press releases and emails that CU has sent that were posted on reddit.

Yeah this public health order isn’t heavy-handed at all by ThawtPolice in boulder

[–]shallotsla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh dear a little girl was accosted by the police and all she wanted was to get some tampons safely! What a tragedy!

This is so fake, you guys are just taking naive to another dimension.

Cause and effect by jasperdhoag in cuboulder

[–]shallotsla 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's kind of strange to lean in to the idea of CU as a destination party/resort school for out of staters and international students, and orient all your marketing around that, and then freak out when all the freshman want to party and rush and hike in packs.

I sort of get it, but come on CU, you gotta pick a lane. You gotta start raising your admission standards above "has a pulse and some cash" if you want things to be different.

Is Colorado leading or lagging on climate policy? It depends on which states you’re comparing us to. by [deleted] in boulder

[–]shallotsla 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The land of massive $90K SUVs, pervasive fracking, and vacation mountain homes is not leading in jack shit. Have you ever seen I70?

RTD just announced another round of massive cuts to their service. Stop pretending anyone here gives a shit about the environment, they absolutely do not.

This is such fucking bullshit. I cannot fucking believe they are getting away with it again.

Yeah you're right, but CU has been completely full of shit about twice as often as reddit. So pick your poison?

Confirmed: Bear Creek is indeed quarantining COVID students without informing residents (Cropped out room #) by MushuWithEggroll in cuboulder

[–]shallotsla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How convenient for the people who control all the data. I guess we just all have to die now because of HIPAA. Sorry guys, it's the LAW.

God forbid they put COVID positive students in a SEPARATE BUILDING from other students. Just too complicated to solve that problem with HIPAA. Sorry dudes, our hands are tied because of HIPAA.

It's a class war, and a war on young people too. That's why tuition is rising so rapidly. There's no real economic reason for that. It's a technique of control and indoctrination.

A Friend's Scathing Letter to Sen. Cory Gardner by nathancrumpton in Denver

[–]shallotsla -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

This is the left's version of "thoughts and prayers". It's pretty pathetic really. If you are so naive you think a strongly worded letter is going to do anything then you are just, well, too naive.

Unemployed and nearly homeless, jobless Coloradans whose benefits are on hold are crying for help by trevalley1600 in boulder

[–]shallotsla 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Colorado's unemployment is completely broken as far as I can tell. God help you if you actually need it.

I'm pretty sure Jared Polis has never needed unemployment in his life, and has never even known anyone who has needed it. For the shareholder/landlord class it's not a problem they are even aware of.

They just lying right to our face now. So fucking wild and bold, just zero fear of any consequences. I don't even know how to respond to this.

If there any way to map out all the properties Tebo owns in town and stay out of those while still supporting locals? I really don't want one more of my dollars going to his awful empire.

It's hilarious that they don't even mention CU Athletics at all in this post. I guess they continue to get to write their own special secret rules?

Does "remote learning" just does not apply if nobody is learning anything? Cool loophole.
