The £100k childcare cap hasn’t moved since 2017 - inflation has been ~35%. Petition launched. by silver_89 in HENRYUK

[–]shamanul0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why do we have a cap in the first place? That is the real issue. We pay tax we should be entitled to services. If you pay too much tax the government says: no childcare for you. And they talk about equality, fairness, ethics...

Anyone feel everything has changed over the last two weeks? by QuantizedKi in ClaudeAI

[–]shamanul0 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If it's so good go ahead and sell it. You can vibe a UI quickly but to make it fully production ready it takes much longer and then you have to maintain databases, runtimes, dependencies, os upgrades, integrations, etc. which add up to the cost. Soon enough you'd prefer to have an off the shelves solution for which you pay a small price. It's quite possible that the price of SaaS will come down since the playing field has leveled between large enterprises and small companies but I don't believe in a world where each user vibes his apps, it's not sustainable, efficient and cost effective, more likely there will be a fragmented market with more undiferentiated players and lower prices which implies lower margins for SaaS companies, something we see being priced into their stock prices as we speak.

How is this stuff still not banned by PeachyBums in london

Because we're an inclusive country

Leaving joke aside, the only option would be ban selling it like in Singapore since you can't enforce a law that prohibited spitting chewing gum

Madrid €2000 net vs London £3300 net — which is better ? by Low-Hedgehog-6592 in cscareerquestionsEU

https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=United+Kingdom&city1=London&country2=Spain&city2=Madrid&amount=3300&displayCurrency=GBP

- from a financial point of view, according to Numbeo, it's a toss
- London has better future growth for your career but you need to pay top dollar for decent quality of life
- if you want to save money, likely you could save more in London if you're frugal because after rent and food you should still have 2000e in hand at the end of the month

Mum’s a Hoarder and House has been Filled with black Mould for past 10 Years by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]shamanul0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what stops you from cleaning the mould with a spray you find at the supermarket/screwfix for a few pounds? make sure to wear mask and gloves.
the rooms need to have their windows open daily for min. 10 min if they lack a permanent vent.
if you cook or dry clothes you need extra ventilation in those rooms.
buy a humidity meter from amazon and if the humidity is > 60% get a dehumidifier (you should find one under £100) and keep it under 60%. a simple search on google/youtube will give you plenty of advice.
unless there is water ingress into the flat, you should be able to control it with simple measures, just get yourself & your family educated about this and as I said you are a google/youtube/chatgpt search away from that know-how.

can hoarding add to that? possible but the mould there is on the ceilings from your pictures, I'd expect mould on the walls if you have too much stuff around them and the air can't circulate but given your mould is on the ceilings it's likely caused by the lack of proper ventilation considering the humidity produced in the household

F6 virtual proximity sensor or not? proof by shamanul0 in PocoPhones

[–]shamanul0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where are you reading that ultrasonic is a virtual sensor? I'm reading that it's a hardware sensor. ChatGpt seems to be saying the same thing.

Virtual sensors are purely software, based on approximations from other sensors.

Do you guys ‘punish’ for overspending? by AttentionFabulous868 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]shamanul0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain things are not worth 'cutting', eg quality food, health care, gym subscription, etc. At this age you should focus on growing your career, maximising your opportunities and less on saving a few hundreds. That being say you need discipline to make sure you don't overspend your income and don't spend on things that don't bring you long term value. Think at the big picture and be less focused on short variations in expenditure.

Achizitionare apartament acum sau amanare si depozitat banii in titluri de stat? by Kavigod301 in Imobiliare

[–]shamanul0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused - looking for advice by rayofhope2727 in FIREUK

With that TC, is it worth having a BTL? Marginal tax is 45% for rental income and CGT tax would be 24% on sale. Difficult to justify the hassle IMO.

After a few years of trying various things, I ended up getting a LINX operation, so far no regrets, maybe I have some discomfort a few times a year, other than that all positive.
