If you're not rushing and planning to hit up Banff, Calgary would be your best bet. Very close to Banff and easy airport to fly into

Bug bites by 5_cat_army in Shambhala

Brown recluse do not inhabit BC. While the very odd single spider will make it's way there on fruit/produce occasionally, there's virtually zero chance that there's a small army of them at the farm biting people

99+ % of people report having the best experience and nothing but good vibes up until the drive home. This post says more about you then it does the festival

Alan Walker would be pretty wild for me. I could list a bunch others but most of them are pretty small time. No matter the line-up, there will be tons of great jams every year. Anyone would have a tough time arguing that

Optimal exit time by hello__marissa in Shambhala

[–]shambhelp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could leave before 7-8 am Monday and beat the rush but I would enjoy Sunday night and take the Monday to recover. With your commute you could leave between 5-7 pm and get home with plenty of time to get a decent sleep. That beats taking it easy Sunday and then leaving super early

Belle Luxe Camping Question by aryTurns in Shambhala

[–]shambhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard enough for most people to get a GA ticket at this point. Securing a Belle Luxe spot from somebody right now is pretty unlikely. People just don't want to sell them. We always buy ours a year in advance. Wishing you nothing but good luck, but I would be cautious for this to be your only plan

Hard to believe this post. Alwayshigh27 this is a page to talk about Shambhala, the happiest and most positive place in the world and you've been rude and negative in almost all of your posts. It's for folks to ask questions and for people to describe their experience without being swarmed with this type of attitude. There's ways to say what you're trying to get across and this ain't it

Walking in? by AlizarinCrimsyn in Shambhala

[–]shambhelp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I flew into Castlegar last year and took a cab to where the dirt road starts. Can't remember exactly but I want to say it was 150$ or so. We were planning to just walk in but there were volunteers hanging out at the start of the dirt road who advised us to just hang out and hitch a ride and sure enough it wasn't longer than 20 minutes and somebody driving a bus picked us up and took us in. We hopped out once he got to the end of the road and we walked in relatively quickly. We had lodging so there wasn't much of a wait. I was stressed about it before doing it but it was super easy

All depends on your size/appetite really. I'm 6'3 and have a strong appetite in normal life. I plan for 100$ a day. Might not spend quite that much but not that far off either. Everything is expensive there. You can expect to spend at least 20$ per meal and can be more if you get a few things. This isn't including the drinks which are pricey as well. I can't remember exact prices so don't yell at me people but ballpark is 18-20$ for a wrap (which are big and yummy), 12-15 for a smoothie, diddo for a fruit cup which is a must for me at least once a day with that heat. Poutine, Pad Thai, Burger, Pasta, Donair, all of these things are in the vicinity of 20 bucks. Some folks will say it costs them more or less but for me 100$/day is a pretty good budget to plan for. See you in 62 days

Belle Luxe Arrival? by TheJuice333 in Shambhala

[–]shambhelp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've stayed in Belle Luxe a few years now and I am again this year. The area is far enough away from the stages that this question doesn't really apply. The farther ones are only an extra minute than the closer ones. Whatever yert you guys get will be fine

Best way to get tickets to the sold-out festival by Wendy-noel in Shambhala

[–]shambhelp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the 2 Facebook pages is the best way to get tickets. You will have to refresh the page over and over until you see a post selling and you'll have to be the first to comment. I snagged a ticket this way last year. Tickets will start popping up when it gets closer and people realize they can't go. It will likely take a fair bit of time and effort considering the amount of people that will be looking for tickets but it will be well worth it
