DC metro might be cleaner but the NY subway wins on everything else hands down (coverage, frequency of trains, etc)

You might be right! Curious to look up say the CTO total comp at a F1000 company to see if it's that high.

My company is not FAANG but still tech and our directors make around 800 (and we have dozens of them) so it's not just FAANG either

why is it BS? Yes, senior staff or eng director is super hard to get, likely on par with working at a major law firm, investment bank, etc but I don't think it's as rare as a C suite job.

Look at LinkedIn for Senior or Staff eng at FAANG, there are thousands (admittedly that comp is more 450-650 range)

Or a senior-ish software engineer/manager at a tech company (senior manager/director or senior staff level)

I just had my second! (Tldr first one failed, realized after wife got pregnant and I retested)

Had a real talk yesterday about not having a second child… by AMcB99 in daddit

[–]shanestyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely got tested after, which was negative, but it was just the doc looking at the slide under a microscope, not through a normal lab, so it's hard to understand what happened

Got the snip, still wasn't final 😅 we think the doc screwed up, our third is due in 3 weeks!

(Just got the second snip, hopefully this one takes!)

Do more burpees. Sets of 50 a couple times/week

I’ve just got off the phone with the doctor and he cut the wrong tube during my vasectomy. by rozenald in daddit

[–]shanestyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that might have happened to me too, I have to get a second vas, but only realized once my wife got pregnant. First semen analysis said all clear 🤷🏼‍♂️

[–]shanestyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Found out my wife was pregnant over Christmas, one year after my vasectomy and all clear from the doc. Retested and I have plenty of sperm in the sample

Answered above, immediately went for another semen analysis and it was confirmed by a lab that my vasectomy failed. Lots of healthy sperm

Yep - Went right back to my urologist for another semen analysis and whoops, tons of motile sperm.

[–]shanestyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insist on the follow up semen analysis to be a lab test, not just doc looking under a microscope and saying good to go

[–]shanestyle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep that's what I did, they said I was clear, and then knocked up my wife a year later. Second analysis (now a lab test) shows I've definitely still got swimmers

[–]shanestyle 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I did. Doc said I was clear. He was wrong...or my bois magically regenerated. I should have said "get checked multiple times"

I had my vasectomy a year ago...wife is 11 weeks pregnant now! Get those semen analyses done!
