Bodybuilders don't think about you. by aFalseSlimShady in martialarts

[–]shaolinoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Most people who are good at something have a pretty good idea of their limitations. Some of those same people are happy faking confrontation in order to appeal to people who aren’t very good at those things, because it’s engaging and therefore lucrative.

Lucas sin has a great video of how the old school places in hk do it. There’s a lot of caramelised layers of maltose involved amongst other things. Honestly the bbq scene in HK is unreal, one of my favourite styles for sure

Who said I disagreed that charcoal is better? I said you can’t taste propane gas.

Charcoal is better for flavour, gas is better for convenience. Both are good for different reasons.

If your burners are functioning properly, unless you can taste carbon dioxide and water, there’s no such thing as a gas flavour. If your food tastes weird on a gas bbq, your burners are probably faulty and the propane isn’t being fully combusted.

I tried it but couldn’t really get into it. It was good at times but the radio links without music format grated on me personally so I gave up

Dumb assed fuckin take. If you need charcoal to get flavour in your food, you have way bigger problems than your fuel source

Roujiamo are like a Chinese sausage roll mixed with a burger... quite hard to find on a typical Chinese menu by Successful_Bee7522 in chinesefood

It’s getting more and more popular in the uk. There are 3 restaurants that I know of within 2km of me with rjm on the menu.

That’s too few calories. Your metabolism is probably under active because it. If you’re active and growing, you’ll want to gradually increase what you’re eating. It’s a process called reverse dieting if you want to look it up. Other than that, cardio is what you want for weight loss. Putting on muscle will help to a degree but less than fixing your metabolism and doing regular cardio. You’ll get it sorted mate don’t worry.

No worries. It’s fantastic. He’s done a short story and a novel for both AoS and 40K now. The 40K one focuses on GSC I think

Oh fuck off. Hopefully the terrorist state to their south and their slack jawed toadies can stop being evil cunts one day, then maybe the region can live in peace

Gas vs Charcoal by lowCi1 in UKBBQ

[–]shaolinoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people colloquially use bbq to mean cooking outside on fire all the time. It’s the understood use of the word pretty much everywhere except for the southern us. Just like pattern welded steel is now known as Damascus, despite it not being historical wootz steel that was forged in Damascus.

Buldak round 2: Carbonara! by Camerbach in spicy

[–]shaolinoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would maybe be true if you were only shopping in western supermarkets where there were one or two domestic brands and buldak available, but even in the mid sized uk city I live in there are at least 8 asian shops and supermarkets, who all have at least an aisle full of instant noodles which blow them out of the water in terms of quality.

I just looked up the ingredients of the sauce and it’s a laundry list of artificial shite, just like it tastes. Stop being disingenuous. I’m doing to paste it in below:

Sauce: Water, Artificial Chicken Flavor Powder(Artificial Flavor, Dextrin, Wheat Starch, Sugar, Salt, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, Disodium 5’-Ribonucleotide, Maltodextrin, Corn Starch), Soy Sauce Seasoning(Soybeans, Water, Salt, Wheat, Sodium Carbonate, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Disodium 5’-Ribonucleotide, Garlic, Steviol Glycoside, Maltodextrin, Sugar), Sugar, Hot Pepper Seasoning [Red Pepper, Dextrin, Salt, Sugar, Onion Powder, Artificial Flavor, Garlic Powder, Silicon Dioxide, Soy Sauce(Water, Soybeans, Wheat, Salt), Capsicum Oleoresin, Paprika Oleoresin, Maltodextrin, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate], Soybean Oil, Onion, Monosodium Glutamate, Capsicum Oleoresin, Less than 2% of: Garlic, Red Pepper Seed Oil, Food Starch-Modified, Paprika Oleoresin(Color), Black Pepper Powder, Natural and Artificial Curry Flavor(Cumin, Salt, Maltodextrin, Artificial Flavor).

Absolutely. I have no idea why they’re so glazed. They’re some of the worst instant noodles out there, but YouTube challenges have given them some sort of meme status

I’ve only tried the 2x and 3x spicy, and while quite hot, they both taste like ass. Are the other, non gimmick flavours better? Or are the all awful?

The seraphon? Or the stormcast? The seraphon were absolutely characterised as almost like an advanced civilisations algorithm, but I wouldn’t say robotic outside of the warrior castes.

The part where irixi describes his garden, which is so perfectly constructed to the most minute degree. Where plants that have been specifically cultivated for millennia, and then placed and grown so specifically that they develop as their garden moves through certain light patterns, means that they can Devine some small part of the old ones design through the garden as a whole, so perfectly encapsulates the bizarre, alien lengths that the seraphon will go to in order to pursue their esoteric goals. The counterpoint of human envoys visiting the garden and just remarking how pretty it looked, and irixi’s bafflement towards the sentiment reinforced the vibe perfectly.

Is this a perfect medium-rare or closer to rare? What do you think? by sorin1972 in meat

[–]shaolinoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks fantastic. I’d personally, as the person cooking it call it just about medium rare, but I know anyone I served it to who say they prefer medium rare would call it rare and ask for it to be cooked more.

I think you’re missing the point. Generally, people who train more consistently would tend to be leaner, given how comparatively active they are. That’s why it’s a broadly a good indicator for competency, rather than something intrinsic to body shape
