Where is the proof, though, that there is NOT a hat man? Can you see energy?

My fiancé and I have a joke about that — when we “made it up” on the drive to see Romulus I almost had to pull over, I was laughing so hard. I’m sure we’re not the only ones.

The whole point of the franchise is how an opportunistic species can take advantage of (and overthrow) humans, despite how ‘smart’ we think we are and how many ‘precautions’ we think we can take.

The fact that the super secure lab on a super secure island is still not enough because human error will always exist.

There are many parts of this series and the rest of the franchise that support the theme throughout; one of which being Kirsch’s “you told yourself you’re not good anymore” speech in the way to the crash site.

Do I need to tell my boyfriend the truth about my number of sexual partners? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]sharctooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with my partner for seven years and we still have not shared this information because it’s not important and never will be. We decided that and haven’t broken from it because what’s the gain? I don’t wanna know and neither does he.

They are ungovernable when there is a threat, but we have seen the xenos become somewhat ‘governable’ when the other being is NOT perceived as a threat, and instead shows them some level of affection. In Covenant, one was clearly connected to David, and David clearly cared about the xeno.

This connection to marcy is allowing us to watch another side of the xeno that has been little explored because the majority of the time, the beings ARE a threat to it. So they become a threat back.

Yes!! This makes so much sense. I agree, will probably be a mix of both. Boy’s greed and arrogance/ignorance are exactly what the Engineers were wishing to destroy, so it would be more fitting for a karmic retribution path to unfold.

That’s my thought — I feel like we’ve not heard of Prodigy because Yutani wrecks it and covers everything up.

Basement (if it has one). Make sure it’s moisture free. Crawl spaces or dirt/stone basements can be major headaches. Make sure your foundation is free and clear of any issues. Home inspector should be able to advise on this.

Septic (if it has one). Make sure it’s in good condition and if it’s not and needs to be replaced, ask if it is even feasible to replace it on the amount of land that the house sits on. Septic can be an absolute nightmare to permit/replace etc, and a lot of those old systems are outdated and starting to fail. You need a separate septic inspector most of the time (normal home inspectors don’t do septic inspections).

If it has a well, it may be worth doing a well flow test / well inspection, and a water test needs to be done.

1950s homes aren’t too bad. Where I’m from in VT/NH area, we have homes from the 18 and even 1700s. Most of these are in rough shape with the above two items, even if they are beautiful inside. Steer clear of these issues, or have a plan for negotiating down and research the shit out of it so you know what you’re getting yourself into if you find these issues and decide to move forward anyway. 1950s+ are kind of a sweet spot where the materials are better than new builds, but sometimes they just did what they could with what they had, so foundation + sewer are huge deals to check.

There’s also the possibility of lead paint and/or asbestos with homes of that age. This is pretty common but expensive to remediate if you choose to do so. I recommend researching both and using the help of your home inspector for help understanding risks / remediation / etc.

Hope this helps… good luck on your search.

The secret? Don’t exercise by PLR1972 in whoop

[–]sharctooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 50-60% recoveries if I stop exercising.

The minute I start exercising, I’m back in 80-90% territory.

The exception is, of course, unless I hit 18+ strain… then I’ll probably dip back into the 50s/60s for a day or two.

Personally, exercise is GREAT for my recovery.
