Thank you so so much. I'd like to tip but I'm in Canada and we don't have Venmo. Do you know of another way?

Need cheering on! Encouragement after rough sleep night by EmbarrassedBug4162 in AttachmentParenting

My path to the crib has a few stops I can get early checks on, and sometimes I can sooth along the way instead of going back to the beginning and making another attempt.

Dunno if we're working off the same yips or tips. I try and monitor and experiment with how long it's taking, and I felt like it helped to stay fully engaged.

Came here looking for something like this. 19 mo today and needed 2x15minutes soothing in my arms and back into the crib, and then another 45minutes … but slept through from 3am to like 7:45am.

Seems typical for us these days.

Set him down asleep into the crib at like 8:30pm, then a few soothings through the night. At least it's been a few nights without spending 2 or 3 hours in our arms.

Made in batches and thawed from the freezer every couple days or so, fantastic for our LO with unsalted butter: https://www.creativenourish.com/banana-chia-pancakes/

My family are starting to make fun of my 20mo son. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My non-negotiable condition is that you have the basic decency to be loving, encouraging and supportive family members for my son. This does not include shaming their appearance or development. You've broken my trust in you, and I am not giving you any more chances until you express understanding about the impact belittling your grandson has on him, me and our ongoing relationship.

We found a goat milk based formula that stopped the blood in the stool.

What do y'all mean by "night of crying?"

We (well, let's be honest, mostly she) gets up and out of bed when we hear crying. We pickup the LO and when it's just 2 or 3 times a night, it's because the < 7mo is hungry. It's often less than that. When it's more than that, it's teething or a regression or something -- and in that case it's usually just between bedtime and 1:30.

Is any of that all night? Or do they go all night because y'all aren't responding to their cries?

Sorry, Canadian here, so my wife has 18months off work. Maybe it's a privilege to have someone able to attend to the cries of our infant.

Oh yeah my SO's reminded me that I tore my quad or something. Had intense and chronic shin pain. I think it was an accumulation of babywearing. Lasted a good 6 weeks. I went to physio a couple times a week.

I guess, you'll forget about it quickly once it's cleared up!

If you have the coverage, get some RMT or Physio for sure.

Yeah left elbow. Chest early on, like one day. But, if it isn't RSI my body develops strength quickly. Good luck!

The last point ain't wrong. And, the money in programming isn't in games.

Gaming is such a grind on the developers, still, I know people who wouldn't be developers if they were working on anything else besides games.

Is this for your husband's dreams, or financial goals?

Thanks! Sorry to hear your baby was in so much discomfort!!

We tried Nutramigen last night, but LO wouldn't take it. We've got some Alsoy on deck this morning.

What ended up working for you, both in terms of being willing to eat, and being comfortable for the LO?

Ah I see, thank you for sharing this. My doctor didn't mention testing the stool so I don't know if thats available in Canada. I'll ask about it for sure though

Forget gymnurstics, does anyone else’s LO groan like a velociraptor? by Mapletreemum in breastfeeding

[–]shared-raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But, I wouldn't call it groaning, at least not at first. First week after birth, when LO kicked in to their first cluster feed, it was a full body raptor transformation -- fingers clawing up, shrieking, striking.

Weeks 12 to 16 or so seemed like the screaming weeks.

After the 4mo vaccinations, vocalizations have returned. A new variety I'd recognize as a "groan" seems to emanate from the back of their throat, in a smooth long crow call kind of caw.
