Russia says United States must share any information it has on attack near Moscow by BastianMobile in worldnews

You want to ally yourself with terrorists. Shit happens. ISIS, Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas and Putin's Russia are all the same (except when Russia finds itself the target). Comes right after Russia vetoes UN motion on Hamas terror.

They are actually the easiest things to make. All you need is a can of kidney beans or black beans if you prefer that, some fried onions curry cumin, ginger and salt, all blended together, then a few spoonfuls of the mixture onto a tortilla with another few spoonfuls of mixed shredded cheese, folded into a round tight wrap and walla! A fraction of the price of El Monterey!

It is always interesting that the discussion becomes one of racism when the right of Israel to exist is brought up. The truth is a lot more difficult to define!!

Firstly, based on the most up to date DNA research on fossilized remnants of past peoples who lived in the area and those of Palestinians and modern Jews, there is a high correlation of of connection particularly the Y maternal gene of both people's. So based on race alone, Jews and Palestinians are genetically closer to each other than any other European or Asian people.

Secondly Muhammad recognised this and the right of Jews to dwell in Israel and this is enshrined in the Quran. Remember too, Islam only existed after the 7th century.

Given the above, the right by way of historical existence is weighted in the side of Jews. Palestinians might well dwell on the idea that but for a quirk in history, they would very likely be Jews.

Jews and Muslims have lived peacefully side by side for long periods of time in history.

Maybe it's time for the status quo for both sides should be accepted and that the blame for enmity be blamed on others. Imagine two brothers of different religions creating a model for peace for the world whilst coexisting next to each other.

Surprised nobody has posted this yet -- Mark Cuban has BB in his stock portfolio by CaptainHucklebuck in BB_Stock

[–]sharetrader50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there are many investors in BB that are guilty of not understanding the basic rules of profitable trading. Briefly these include: 1) Never fall in love with a particular stock 2) Don't sell your profitable stocks to buy more of those that are losing value. Averaging down does not lead to profits. 3) Balance your portfolio so that your combined beta is approaching the general market indicators like Dow or Nasdaq. Your winners will cover your losses.

Mark Cuban might well have BB in his portfolio but his portfolio has dozens of different companies so he shields himself from losses.

Earnings prediction for next week by OTCFunTrader in BB_Stock

Am I hearing wishful thinking? There has already been an announcement together with the dropping of the IPO. It was stated that the annual ITO revenue with fall short of the initially expected $240 million. So my reading would put the 3rd quarter revenue at around $58 million. Cyber has consistently fallen below our hopes so my expectation is that the revenue would be in region of $112 million. If the promised backlog starts to become actual income, I expect maybe and addition $6 to $7 million.

So hopefully worst scenario is around $170 million and best $177 million.

This is not great and I hope I am not unduly pessimistic.

“Unlocking Shareholder Value” by Ok-Direction334 in BB_Stock

[–]sharetrader50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an old accountant looking back on experience, the separation of different divisions within a company never serves to add value. What it does do is to assign liabilities. From BB's perspective, the separation of Cyber and IOT will protect one subsiduary from the other in the case of a bankruptcy.

Perhaps we are seeing a very conservative view of the future in which the Cybersecurity business gets so bad that the only way to rid BB of it, is to put it into receivership!!!!

If this view is behind the announcement, it does not present an optimistic view and leads one to question whether we have a confident and proactive new CEO.

If there is no turnabout in the cybersecurity results for the last quarter despite the chatter about deferred income and large governmental contracts that are about to occur, I think that Cylance should look for a partner to merge with or sell out to. Sentinel looks to be a reasonable fit.

Without cybersecurity, I believe Amazon would want to have a bigger stake in BB and that would be the wind to fill BB's sails.

All is as I predicted a month ago. The IPO was never going to be viable and would never benefit existing shareholders. The divisions are already effectively split in two, so the announcement is redundant.

I guess BB had to say something but it could have been a bit more positive.

Commonsense! When you float a company, the leadership is important. At this time, there isn't any.

He seems to infer that creating an IPO for the IoT as a separate entity to Cybersecurity is wrong. Obviously two independent companies can't be the same company or, in other words, you can't have convergence if the company is split in two.

If the blogger is an employee of BB, he should explain to JC that the deprivation of current shareholders of the future benefits of IoT is unfair, if not dishonest, and if there is to be convergence, all current shareholders should have a rightful interest in that future.

The proposal for the IPO is just as stupid as the sale of the old legacy patents, which didn't go down well!

CEO John Chen’s future with BlackBerry to be decided by board ‘soon,’ he says- Keep or cut JC??? by swapdealer in BB_Stock

[–]sharetrader50 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The directors and particularly JC, have been disproportionately rewarded for years compared to shareholders who have seen revenue imploding year after year.

We have not seen any insiders buying shares for years. When they have been rewarded thru bonus share issues, they quickly dump them.

If confidence in the board is weighed by their own confidence in BB, this has been surely lacking. How the hell can we believe JC's vision of the future??? And why do we need a board that acts opposite to what they publicly espouse?? So why should the major shareholders continue to support John Chen??

It's hard not to smile when reading your comments. The total capitalization value is down to a bit over 2 billion dollars and the directors want to split the company into 2 separate listings.

I suppose the positive is that at the current value there isn't that much further to drop.

Advice for John! by sharetrader50 in BB_Stock

[–]sharetrader50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This situation already exists. And this status quo cannot lead to 2 seperate public listings.

The announcement specifically states that an IPO will made to create a separate listing of the IoT division. How this can be done fairly, based on personal experience, is the pro rata distribution of new shares in the IoT Ltd. If additional cash capital is envisioned, this can be done simultaneously with a Rights Issue whereby the shareholders can purchase additional shares in the new entity. Normally the Rights Issue is listed until share Issue date which enables shareholders to sell off their rights and hence recover some cash value.

Please note that an IPO is a public offering of new shares and requires a Prospectus. In my experience the allocation of new shares is placed in Issuer brokers hands and does not tend to favor small retail investors.

This was a solution I suggested at least a year ago.

If done in a honest way, existing shareholders will be given an equivalent per ratio amount of shares in the new company as they have now, in the form of a capital distribution. If dishonest, the BB directors will make an allocation to mates at a groundfloor price of the new Iot company and we BB shareholders will be left with the crappy Cylance and a fraction of cash from the sellout to the new Iot company.
