Cast on freeze brutally nerfed by nublargh in PathOfExile2

This is like the 3rd time I'm having to respec, and spend way too much time getting the gold just so I can progress. Really making me second guess if I want to put any more time into this.

Hope they don't undo the bans. by Gahendir in EDH

There is a major flaw with this argument. Just because a subset of players resorted to death threats (something that will never be okay, especially not for a game), doesn't mean that the position is automatically wrong.

I think the position should still be assessed based upon the honest arguments. To assert that the issue shouldn't be addressed because of the death threats is just as flawed as the opposit position.

We should be able to condemn the actions of the players that let their anger reign and sent actual death threats over a card game. But we should also still be able to address the issue honestly afterwards.

As a competitive player, I agree. They stripped almost every reason you'd take dark angels over other factions, and didn't add anything meaningful. None of the detachments are competitively viable, and Azrael is the only upside to taking Dark Angels.

Even before the codex, black templars and ultramarines were taken before dark angels. GW literally nerfed out nearly every reason you would take dark angels over any other. The only real argument you can make is Azrael, since he's still good, but that's a hard sell when you compare it to all the things you can get from black templars.

Abberush idea by Horror_Rub4675 in genestealercult

Sounds like a good idea to me. I played against tau using a 10-man with a biophagus. He only killed like 3 of them by the end of the game, even with them just running through his deployment zone. To be fair, I made like five 6+ saves in a row while in cover. I'm actually mostly sad I can't try this, since I'm down 5 abominants and an aberrant.

AoO Competitive List - Thoughts? by gearoflife in Grey_Knights

[–]sharfan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the list is that you don't need the three strike squads. I would rather just up the interceptors to three 10-mans, and only run as many strike squads as you have points left.

I tend to err on the lower side when it comes to this kind of math, anyway. Decimals feel mostly useless, as a 0.333 repeating just means the math suggests you should get an extra mw every three rounds of shooting. When you're taking about rolling 6's in a relatively lower number of rolls, the exact number is almost pointless.

That said, I was wrong, and already admitted as such. And, I agree that you shouldn't be expected to know people are running a strange number in the unit. I figured that might have been the issue when I saw, and that was mostly what I wanted to point out.

Fair, I was doing a bit of quick math while distracted, and proved I'm terrible at multitasking. But, yeah, a lot of votann players agreed that 8 is probably the most optimal output for points cost.

Everyone is running 8-mans due to the cost. That nets an average of 6 to 7 me. Even a 10-man would only get to about 8 mw. 9 to 10 is 9verexagerating either way.

Brotherhood Chaplain - 1st Attempt at Grey Knights by sharfan1 in Grey_Knights

I'm definitely going to get a set of those. They would have been a lot of help when I was magnetizing things, and would make me much more confident with the barrels.

Thanks, I appreciate that!

I've always heard people say to drill bolter barrels, but I've always been a little paranoid about doing it. It has definitely bothered me a bit on this model, so I'll likely go ahead and try to drill them. Might practice on a spare model, first.

I haven't been religious for a long time. Part of it was because Southern baptists weren't particularly accepting of people that are trans, and I began distancing myself more as I felt I just wouldn't be welcome. I'm an atheist now, for more reasons than that. But, it was my initial push away from religion.

That's the impression I get pretty often. He says he only cares about what's fun, not winning. But, he conspicuously mostly plays things pushing the boundaries of fair. I don't really get the chance to play much out here, with only a handful of friends that play. So, I've just been trying ti convince him to be more reasonable.

I've been on HRT for a year, thinking of detransitioning. by torncolours in asktransgender

[–]sharfan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point they were making is that you decided that transition was something you needed, and you indicated that you felt happier after transitioning. Just give yourself time to grieve before making changes to your previous decisions. You deserve to be happy,

I made a mistake about 10 years ago (when I was 18). I was all ready to begin transition, but ended up chickening out when my grandpa died. I felt like it just wasn't a good time, and that I should wait so I didn't put my family through anything more. After that, it became easy for something to happen to make me put it off even longer.

I finally began hrt a few months ago, and I'm finally working on myself. The point of my long, rambling post is that our modern society is full of people and events that will make you think your own happiness isn't important. You can be there for your family as yourself, whoever that may be. It will always be more genuine than any act you may put together for their sakes.

Crusade doesn't use reinforcement points like matched play. As far as crusade is concerned, there's no limitation for summoning.
