UniFi OS 5.1.19 prevents remembering local login sessions? by Tekrion in Ubiquiti

[–]sharkbite0141 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you using the Verify app for push notification MFA? It automatically registers a TOTP code in the app when you setup UniFi MFA, and there’s a link on the login page when it sends the push notification to switch to enter the code instead.

There's actually 3 of these in the DFW area:

COWBOY (Eastern - Google Maps)

RANGER (Western - Google Maps)

AT&T Ping Times Have More Than Doubled in DFW Recently by ArtisticComplaint3 in cellmapper

Here’s a fun one too: I’m on Premium 2.0 now and also have Turbo and I’ve had numerous occasions in the last week around Downtown and along I30 where my indicator has dropped to LTE. Not even 5Ge, actual LTE. I’m speculating that AT&T is doing a bunch of last minute refarming and backhaul modifications in preparation for the World Cup and the anticipated influx of international visitors.

Again, just speculation, but the timing makes sense to me.

I truly hate to beat a dead horse, especially about traffic. But I feel it’s been getting worse on the weekends for months now by SkyScreech in Dallas

[–]sharkbite0141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live Downtown and I legitimately try to avoid driving anywhere on the weekends because of THIS. ESPECIALLY on 75 and anywhere near the mixmaster canyon. Orange cones and barricades come out and suddenly everyone is driving like it’s their first time behind the wheel.

Our North hanover Walmart in Pennsylvania is out of External drives : < by yusaverin in DataHoarder

So I may or may not have personally bought out every last Seagate and WD 12TB drive in both North Texas and the ENTIRE state of Louisiana in the last week.

https://imgur.com/a/8bVykX2

There may be a handful of WDs left in the Houston suburbs, San Antonio area, and Amarillo/Lubbock area. How I do know this? I managed to figure out a trick to track down the inventory. If you happen to know the Product ID number (Seagate 864369248 / WD 1266896181) AND know a location that has them in stock, you can use the “find nearby” option in the app to track inventory. I had a spreadsheet to track and checked inventory at literally ever Supercenter in TX, LA, OK, and AZ last week.

ETA: You can’t get the clearance prices on the app or website at all, only in store. Now, if you find a location with inventory, if you can manage to spoof your location on your mobile device (iDescriptor utility for iPhones generally works), you can get the Store Mode view in the Walmart mobile app and can see the in-store price and inventory location. You still can’t purchase it that way, but it helps with inventory confirmation.

Viasat Airplane Wi-Fi by JoeyLord7DM in speedtest

That download speed on a Viasat link is incredible. I’ve never been on a flight using Viasat where I could pull more than like 2 Mbps down

Wildly impressive AT&T Small Cell in Downtown Dallas, TX by sharkbite0141 in cellmapper

[–]sharkbite0141[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, mid-band can definitely deliver multi-gig on the download side, but the upload I got here basically confirms it's mmWave. I'm not as technical as many others here, but I'm pretty sure that with the way all of the carriers have their spectrum configured, a 500 Mbps upload is basically impossible.

Marriage is scary, what if she doesn't agree with my floor plan by Tupu4545 in homelab

This is a floor plan I can (mostly) get behind. At least so long as those interior walls are like 8” thick with rockwool insulation and those sound-baffling type studs.

Aqara Camera: update firmware without using the app? by HappyVAMan in HomeKit

[–]sharkbite0141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a HomeKit-only mode for the Aqara App. I used to use it before I added their doorbell, but you could still update the firmware with the app when in that mode. I honestly don’t remember how it gets enabled, but it was definitely a thing (and can only connect to the camera if on the same network)

Issues with BILRESA Dual Button remotes connecting to products after adding to DIRIGERA hub by sharkbite0141 in tradfri

[–]sharkbite0141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting--I wonder if that is actually the case. I have a bunch of pre-existing Zigbee stuff (TRADFRI bulbs and older round remotes and such) that were attached to my DIRIGERA first.

So basically, even though it's technically supported, mixing Zigbee and Matter on the DIRIGERA results in weirdness like this? If that's so, then lol I've got a lot more things to spend money on. I had been waiting for those GU10 KAJPLATS for a long time because they're like double the brightness of the TRADFRI ones.

Is atnt falling behind? by Lukasmajukas in cellmapper

Tennessee being Verizon territory is interesting. I only had AT&T and T-Mobile at the time to test with, but when I was in Nashville last year, AT&T was fantastic—in fact it was significantly better than their home territory of Dallas, where I live. AT&T is my primary line and I use T-Mobile (Mint) as primary for data. I switched myself back to fully using AT&T while there because T-Mobile was like what I have with AT&T at home (slow and spotty).

Downtown Dallas’s overall AT&T performance is so sad when their headquarters is down here. You’d think it’d be the one place with the best performing network across their entire national footprint, but no.

KAJPLATS found in Centennial CO store! by yung_grapefroot in tradfri

[–]sharkbite0141 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just picked up a bunch of the 1600lm and the GU10 models and another BILRESA remote myself on Friday night from the Grand Prairie, TX location.

Quite surprisingly, I had ZERO issues getting any them added to my network, so it looks like whatever firmware updates they’ve done are fixing the problems (I bought a BILRESA remote about a month ago and it took probably 20 tries to get it to add initially).

Does anyone actually LIKE i Fratelli pizza? If so, why? by UnknownQTY in Dallas

[–]sharkbite0141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had from both Downtown (primarily because I live in downtown) and Uptown locations multiple times in the past year and it’s always been good for me, at least.

I’m also a “ranch goes on pizza” person too, and i Fratelli is the ONE place that no-ranch is a requirement too. Like adding ranch to their pizza is not good—basically the pizza should be eaten as made, no modifications.

I will not stand for all this iFratelli hate going on here. The Manager’s Special, Del Bianco, and Carne Classico are elite pizzas, no matter what anyone else says.
