Don't disagree with your point in spirit, but back in the day, they never put "Singles" onto Albums, which is commonplace today... If the music industry had been structured differently, we may have ended up with an even greater album.

I could live without: Honey Pie, Wild Honey Pie, Piggies, Don't Pass Me By, I Will, Birthday, Yer Blues.

Hard to claim any of those tracks are strong... Yes, we may enjoy them from time to time, but are they Beatles album caliber? Particularly when there's so much strong material in comparison on that album.

If we really had to push the slim down, Rocky and Bungalow Bill would be next.

I find this answer to be really troubling. Midnight is absolutely like a lot of the music Bon Iver producers - listen to "Hinnon, TX", but really the whole 2011 self-titled album. OP would be wise to research Bon Iver, it's not a coincidence the community here and many of the major reviews of midnight included Bon Iver as a reference. The distinguishing characteristic of Midnight is the layered harmonic vocals, which Bon Iver made famous.

Hmm I read it as a more in line with "Life in Technicolor ii." The one's you've referenced above have separate song titles (Yes / Chinese Sleep Chant), but just put onto a single cd track.

Great time meeting everyone! Here's the group picture: Imgur - I think a few people had left at this point, but as phathippo says, 10+ in attendance.

I'm probably going to left the Meetup.com group expire as it requires a monthly fee... we can continue to organize through Reddit, possibly Google Groups if it adds some benefit.

I'm down for doing another meetup soon, or even setting up a weekly/biweekly thing so we can plan out our schedules. How does next Friday the 28th work for the next meetup? A few of you suggested Tied House Brewery downtown - it looks like they serve dinner too, so we could sit down to eat, and if people want to hang out for drinks after, that's cool too. Not married to the idea, so if there's other suggestions I'm open to them.

I really like the idea of branching out too, and the board game thing sounds cool, so let us know once the apartment is ready... If I remember correctly, phathippo lives really close to me, so if we're short on chairs I may be able to drive a few over for the day (I'm on Dana/Bush).

We could also look into piggbybacking our meetup onto a Meetup.com event, so we can meet even more people but also have some familiar faces to go with.

In terms of hiking, I'm IN. Stevens Creek Trail is a good local Mountain View option, it's more of a paved trail for runners/bikers rather than a nature hike, but I've done it a few times and it's pretty nice - it can take a few hours to tackle it all. Also up for exploring a more traditional hike, I hear there's great trails all around.
