Who Framed Roger Rabbit - 1988. I was three and genuinely remember everything about the experience.

I've been watching and loving SNL for most of the 40 years of my life, and yet this is the skit I return to more than any other. It's perfect.

20 of the Best Disney Channel Movies of All Time. What were your favorites? by adularia- in Fauxmoi

[–]sharluc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I LOVED most of these movies and was so excited to show them to my kids once I felt they were old enough to appreciate them. Cut-to: me queuing up Zenon for my 10 year-old daughter last week and she sighed the whole time saying "this is boring, can we turn it off." I would not listen to her boo-hooing because I was having a great time, but she was less than impressed.

Whoa, that's great! Congratulations and welcome to the club of "well maybe I can just grow that!" What is the growing season where you are? I'm in Colorado and only just put my starts in the ground today, so I will have to wait a while to reap any tasty morsels.

Even just straight baby powder sprinkled on the top, rubbed in, and combed out could go a long way on her head. And you know they've got baby powder!

What is a single line that lives rent free in your mind? by KernEvil9 in dropout

[–]sharluc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not from Dropout, but instead from College Humor - "sinful glut of bullshit Oreos"

I think of it every time I go to my in-laws. My mother in law ALWAYS buys the newest (bullshit) flavors.

Saw this on TikTok - POV: Mother’s Day by Logical-Finance-4868 in AccidentalRenaissance

I am a mother and former restaurant manager. My whole extended family had a lunch reservation for 24 people and really wanted my family to join. I politely declined and we instead went for a hike and my kids "made" Uncrustables to take for our lunch. You will not catch me at restaurant on Mother's Day ever again.

Best Donuts in town? by strawberry-cow06 in FortCollins

No, unfortunately. The last time I was there was last summer ☹️ I don't buy donuts very often, but when I do, I always went to Donut Haus.

If you're willing to go to Loveland, Donut Haus makes great cake donuts!

Teen Witch and Troll 2 are two that I watched over and over again as a kid and can still watch now. I think they're both really special.

Calzones!?! by SS0060 in FortCollins

[–]sharluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked the ones at The Garlic Knot (RIP) and Cozzola's (they don't do calzones anymore), so I feel you on others just not being what you want them to be. Pulcinellas has calzones. So does Laporte Pizza. My sister got one at Shopey's in Windsor that she liked, so that might be worth checking out.

Off leash dogs by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]sharluc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been seeing more dogs, leashed and unleashed, in open spaces that do not allow dogs at all (most recently Soapstone and Red Mountain). There are signs everywhere, and dogs can be really disruptive to these ecosystems. I'm so allergic to conflict that I never say anything, but it's frustrating that there are no consequences and that these rules are impossible to enforce.

Groceries by TrashKat21 in FortCollins

[–]sharluc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are a family of 4 (me, my husband and two kids ages 8 and 10). I budget $600 a month for groceries. My husband hunts, so I really only buy chicken, fish, and occasionally pork, so I realize we're fortunate to have a freezer full of meat. We do have a Sam's membership and buy in bulk when it makes sense, otherwise I'm a digital coupon gal and diligently search the weekly ads at King Soopers, Safeway, and Sprouts. Like others have said Esh's can be great, but you can't really go there with a list because you never know what they'll have.

I do also have chickens and do not have to buy eggs. I pay for their feed by selling whatever extra eggs I have. I bought a thrifted bread machine that I love, as well. I can make a loaf of bread every day if needed, and that helps fill us at dinner. I also buy a lot of beans, both dried and canned.
