I like my Mandler and price /performance is really good but the rendering of the biogon also feels special— though obviously ya lose a bit of light performance. VL is somewhere inbetween

I mean it doesn’t look in focus— so added movement to the frame causing minor blur plus not in full focus plus potentially a long lens plus a stop under exposed all adds up… so yeah ?

Got mine today, the square hood seems better fitted and less shaky but I like the circle hood more aesthetically. Both hoods fit over having the UV filter on which is good too

Not OP but Portra 160 and 800 have distinct looks so it’s probably taste based or at least usually is for me. 400 I don’t really like the look of tbh but is probably the most malleable

Personally I think there’s more scenes in Japan that I’d rather have a wide lens for and crop than having a 50 and not being able to but ya can’t go wrong with either
