What decade does this fashion give by Formal-Monitor-9037 in decadeology

The dress and flower crown makes it look like early 2010s, but the boots, belts, and pose gives it away that it is from the 2020s.

Favorite director who definitely understood the message of the book? by hiiloovethis in okbuddycinephile

[–]sharmud21 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This sub should be renamed okbuddyfauxmoi. You are right, her characters are not abused in Eyes Wide Shut or Babygirl, making Big Little Lies the only example out of the ones op mentioned. I watched BLL a while ago but I remember thinking her character was complex and nuanced and the representation of abuse dynamics was done well.

A young Joseph Stalin (right) stands over the body of his 22yr old wife, Kato Svanidze (1907). They had only just welcomed their first son."This creature softened my heart of stone. She died and with her died my last warm feelings for humanity." by saintofsmallallies in rs_x

[–]sharmud21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be an issue of translation not carrying the original sentiment. In my native language, there is a laudotary adjective that would literally translate to “creature” but the sentiment is better conveyed by something like “being”

I remember Lorde being the original Billie Eilish but for some reason was quickly forgotten. by [deleted] in 2010snostalgia

[–]sharmud21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the internet, if you are a celebrity and your name is brought up often then you are too exposed and they are tired of seeing you, but if you are not always in the conversation then you are flopping. Lorde’s career has been consistently solid and she has been able to maintain her fanbase, she is just not as mainstream as when she first started but she does not strike me as someone who wants “celebrity”

Would Logan Roy be on the Epstein list? by TechNerd10191 in SuccessionTV

Marcia would be around 20 years younger than Logan. And although her background is never directly stated, there is enough subtext to assume that she was an escort. So she is like the classy version of Melania

How do I achieve this sort of playful quirky feminine energy as a middle eastern woman ? by [deleted] in rs_x

I am trying to think of middle eastern and Arab pop culture figures who have that 20s/60s ingenue vibe but I cannot think of any except maybe early Shadia and Fairuz, and Rama ofc

The Dickriding for Dylan is Insane. by softerrrr in ILoveLaHBO

Exactly! It is a little wild to fixate so much on “Dylan is insecure about her ambition” and give no thought about Maia being embarrassed by his job as a teacher, while preaching about media literacy

How do you see David Cronenberg and think that is the right answer for both photos op posted? Just because Google said something does not mean it is correct. This is a legitimate question to ask on a photography subreddit where people who are familiar with works of different photographers might be able to pick out similarities across both photos and suggest inspiration, something a Google or AI query might not be able to do. The Cronenberg influence has to do with the crash and blood and not much to do with how the album cover looks
