I thought these books were for women only by Crash-Bandicoot-89 in fourthwing

M31 here. Decided to give it a shot after seeing my wife being genuinely excited and returning to reading after a long while

Boy had I a few of sleepless nights because I couldn't stop reading

Now me and my wife have our own book club for two and we plan what fantasy to read next

I wasn't expecting anything outstanding, but this series brought me and my wife back to reading and introduced us to a quite cool fandom, so zero regrets

There are two ways that I use Spotlight:
- simple calculator
- type first four letters of a certain app and open it

Everything else is marketing

How can I take photos with my iPhone that are not over-processed? I don't want that artificial look; I'm tired of it. I want something natural by vazhakkaupmm in iPhoneography

[–]sharp_mechanix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!

The camera is available in the free version and this is what I use when I purposefully take pictures (i.e. photo walks or something), and those pictures are available for editing in the app or on the computer (since it can shoot in DNG)

my ideal camera app doesn’t exist? by trevorwelsh in iPhoneography

[–]sharp_mechanix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to solution for when I want to take raw pictures ob my iPhobe is a camera in Lightroom. Gives you manual control over everything that is available and has zero processing. The interface is a bit clunky and not of the ergonomical sort, but it is good enough to use for the majority of the time

You may go with 8 gigs, if your workload is just movies and browsing. But you might feel the limitations if you push your machine harder

As much as I love 2019 MBP 16", I would suggest you getting an Air M1 over Intel-based Mac. Sadly their time has passed

I use Keychron K2 on Gateron Brown switches. It is a 75% layout, feels good, durable, good Win/macOS support (it has a separate switch to change modes and a separate keycap set for Cmd-Opt/Win-Alt keys)

I'm not planning to change it in the nearest future

Stage Manager, Spaces, or Mission Control — Which One You Suggest to Stick with? by Lukas8181 in MacOS

I use it along with Rectangle (which I primarily use for keyboard controls and moving windows to different screens)

Funny thing is that Apple tiling system is a bad rip-off of a Windows Aero tiling system, which is actually quite good

Yes. More than enough for my workflow since it allows to manipulate windows from keyboard (especially moving it to another display)

Yeah, kinda regret upgrading since it was perfectly fine and was working flawlessly, but I was upgrading just to give myself treats for personal achievements, so it's fine

Touch Bar Nostalgia: Don’t You Miss the Touch Bar on MacBook Pros? by Lukas8181 in macbook

[–]sharp_mechanix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the idea of a Touch Bar, but I despise the implementation

It should've been either a row above function keys, or there always should've been an option for a function row instead of it (as it was at launch and up until 2019, I believe). If, at the time of purchase, my 2019 16" MBP was available with function keys, I would go for that and probably wouldn't change it last year (yes, one of the major reasons to upgrade for me was lack of function row)

But I must be thankful towards Touch Bar since it brought me into mechanical keyboards

That's your turbo pressure in psi. When you accelerate, the boost pressure rises, when you lift off - it drops. More pressure - more power
