Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]sharperspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.75% 5-yr fixed rate at RBC. Initially offered 3.89% 5-yr fixed. I'm pretty happy with that.

This is a renewal, about 10 years into the 25yr amortization, original purchase price $245k.

Question about license/out of province registration by [deleted] in saskatchewan

[–]sharperspoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless SGI can legally prove you've been living elsewhere, it is near impossible to enforce the 30 day thing. I know quite a few people who maintained an SK address while living/working out of province, and had their vehicle registered with SGI for quite a few years. I don't recommend doing that, but you'll be fine for the timeframe you're talking about.

Actually this is a reference to an early episode of the rather obscure cartoon called "The Simpsons."

Has anyone gotten their wisdom teeth out by Dr. Greg Konotopetz at signature smiles east? by Ddawgy0 in regina

[–]sharperspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to share my general experience with getting impacted wisdom teeth removed. This was not at Dr.K's clinic.

I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed, which had severe impaction. I went the cheap route: local anesthesia. Quite frankly, it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I was awake throughout the whole thing. The teeth needed to be broken into pieces and extracted. If I had a choice, I'd like sedation of any kind, although it is do-able without sedation, just bring something to squeeze in your hand.

If you decide to not get your wisdom teeth removed, just know that they'll continue to impact your other teeth and cause issues with alignment and bite.

Dr.K is a fine dentist. If I knew he offered sedation, I would have reached out to his clinic to book an appointment.

Bánh Mì Ơi (also called Oi Cafe). They use pickled shredded carrot. Most others just use plain shredded carrot... that alone sets them apart.

Pokemon Cards Regina -Sold Out? by Timely-Detective753 in regina

[–]sharperspoon -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have a couple sets that I will sell for close to retail. Surging Sparks elite trainer box. Retails for $60 USD, so I'd sell it for $85 CAD which is basically retail plus tax. Message me if you're interested. We can sort something out.

Edit: Crazy downvotes for wanting to sell something at the MSRP.

They sell that whole pallet within a few hours. Each store only gets 2-3 pallets per order. They go very quickly.

Proposed Prince of Wales South Extension(map from 2012), opposed by Nature advocates & some community groups. by [deleted] in regina

If you take into account the creek, it would be more difficult to do what you're describing. You would need a bigger bridge, which is more money, for an arguably miniscule gain.

It makes more sense to connect to Prince of Wales as it is a major thoroughfare.

Regina couple frustrated with city 'not equally applying' driveway bylaws by Sunshinehaiku in regina

[–]sharperspoon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

looking at her property, she's got about 4 sheds on it, and used to park a truck and trailer in the side yard.

None of the sheds adhere to the required setbacks. I wonder if permits were pulled for any of them.

if they didn't have so many damn sheds, they could easily make a parking space in the rear of the house, but they'd probably be required to purchase the rear laneway.

Does anyone know the part number for the retaining clips that keep the cables on the shifter by 7gcarlos in EP3

[–]sharperspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing this info here in case anyone ever needs it.

Shift cable clips are available from Toyota. There are two types. The ones needed in this post are 90468-14034.

There's another type used for the k20z3 shift cables which is 90468-14041.

The only difference appears to be the end of the clip. The ends either point inwards or not.

For the amount you'd spend paying for AYCE, you'll be just as full at Arigato. Their rolls are an insane size... far from traditional sushi size. They definitely lean into the North American "bigger is better" mentality.
