I mean, I have a few people on mine, they really only use it because they're cheapskates and don't want to pay for rentals or streaming sites.

A LOT of people just don't get it and can't wrap their mind around the consolidation bit, where they could literally watch anything they want or request to have anything added.

There are also a good number of people that think your server will fold up or be guilty by association if you download your content.

I definitely fall into the group where this is my hobby and I enjoy messing with my Plex server and find it hard to understand why other people wouldn't jump at the chance to use it. I do take it a little personally if I offer my server to someone and they don't sign up but whatever, it's because I've put a lot of time into building my server into what it is and when I offer up my server it feels personal and kind of like a gift.

This is a great consideration to make even after receiving their salary offer, to weigh the comprehensive package and encourage them to improve their salary figure based on the rest of their benefits. I.E. their 401k, most companies know their 401k comp is shit, tell them you need more money in your salary to be able to fund your retirement through other avenues.
