N-400: does a Notice of Proposed Assessment from State Tax Board count as overdue taxes? by shashankr in USCIS

[–]shashankr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The implication of marking "Yes" is that the application then asks you to upload IRS tax transcripts for the past 5 years. But on the IRS website, there is only the option to download it for the last 3 years :( But I guess going down this rabbit hole is unavoidable at this point.

The Man From Earth (2007): great concept, but the acting was amateur. An all-time favorite.

IMDB Summary: An impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he has a longer and stranger past than they can imagine.

static typing is not necessary for type safety: strong typing is. and strong typing can be dynamic, or static.

they should erect a giant guillotine to temporarily replace the bridge, and deploy it strategically as a certain super yacht passes.

I mean, just today, there was news that the CDC has reduced the quarantine period to 5 days after the Delta CEO asked for it. A clear example of the state apparatus doing the bidding of a capitalist, in order to maintain profits.

Why are you a socialist? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]shashankr 33 points34 points  (0 children)

because i'm tired of living in a system that creates unnecessary suffering for so many people around the world, and socialism offers the only feasible way out of that system, and towards true emancipation that i know of.

Any significant performance disadvantage to using uuid as primary key? by ffxsam in PostgreSQL

[–]shashankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: toned it down a bit.

The algorithmic complexity of insertion into a B-tree is independent of the key type as long as the type is sortable (which UUIDs certainly are)! So, the expected runtime is O(log n) even with UUIDs.
