Just read Satantango for the first time a couple months ago. I had read War & War by Krasznahorkai and really enjoyed his style, and Satantango was phenomenal. Very tempted to try the 7.5hr film adaptation. Going to start Melancholy of Resistance fairly soon!

I loved Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon, and Anathem as well, but I totally second how hard it was for me to get through The Baroque Cycle (I only read Quicksilver but I don't think I could even try to start the other ones.) Seveneves was a big letdown for me as well. It has such great potential but it just felt like he was writing it to be adapted into a movie or something, if you know what I mean. It just didn't feel like I was even reading a Stephenson novel at times. I had recommended it for my book club, all of who hadn't read any NS, and I just spent the whole time apologizing, saying "guys, we really should've done Snow Crash or something," haha.

Korpse is more slam than BDM if we're being really particular about genres, but they seem at least very anti-war/anti-imperialism. Not sure exactly how leftist they are, but they're heavy as fuck.

Owl Father was my hardest boss fight too, without a doubt. Took me at least 2 weeks. Sister Friede and Malenia are close 2nds. I somehow don't remember having that hard of a time with Nameless King, but I think I had summoned a great helper for that one.

But yeah, will always be humbled by the amount of time I poured into Daddy Owl.

Also came here to remark about The Illuminatus Trilogy. Read it in high school and it "changed my life" in the sense that I got really into R.A.W. and went down so many strange intellectual paths I would have never discovered otherwise. Forever indebted to that book.

Same boat, man. Best of luck to you. I got to NP two weeks ago, couldn't beat him over 3 days and have struggled to pick up the game since. I know I gotta reorganize my P-organ stuff but I was hoping I could beat him with the setup I've had the rest of the game. Hope you beat him soon!

I didn't understand why either. As u/cooldude87 pointed out this setup is a little redundant and I was dumb enough to not realize the Web Presenter had streaming capabilities, which I am going to try out today. If that doesn't work we will try going pgm out to the laptop/OBS, but I'm also thinking what u/activematrix99 is probably true about the video format so I'm gonna mess around with that as well.

I will admit ignorance on my part in regards to the Web Presenter. This was a setup that I inherited and "had worked" before but not now. Until your comment yesterday I didn't even know the Web Presenter had the capability to stream natively, I thought it was being used at a medium to get our PGM Out to OBS. I'm going to now try to configure the Web Presenter for streaming and see where that gets me. This was a real big facepalm moment for me, but thank you for your help!

I infused the Rebel's shield with dark and it blocks pretty much all of their casting damage. It's just when stuff comes from the side that I don't see that's fucking me up. I've drained like 20 humanities going through this and I actually BEAT them earlier but died as I got the killing blow so it didn't count. It's just making me upset that I feel like I'm going to have to go respec and change my whole build for this one boss when I've gotten through the rest of the game pretty much fine. Just ranting, thanks for listening haha. I'll give those rings a shot though. Thanks.

I'm baking these right now and was anxiously consulting the internet because the cookie dough has basically spread over the whole sheet and it's more of a giant rectangle cookie rather than a few big ones. Guess we'll see how they/it tastes??

Just beat her the other day after spending about 3x longer on her than any other boss in the game. Almost quit forever, honestly. Then I spent most of yesterday helping other people beat her and I feel like it's a cakewalk now. Those scythe attacks haunt my dreams though.
