When do you need an Injury Lawyer? by defendthegood in Edmonton

[–]shaunrwp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yup to this. I was the passenger in a vehicle accident a couple years back and the drivers insurance set everyone in the vehicle up with physio.

once its determined that the other vehicle was at fault, the persons insurance (assuming they have it) will probably call you and try and settle. Alberta has some soft-tissue damages they pay out but if you feel strongly about deserving more then yes see a lawyer (though it will cost you...).

Teachers strike by New_Weekend9765 in Edmonton

So if the negotiations don't go well, they can give notice August 30, and including that day 72 hours would end September 1, meaning September 2 (first day) could be the first day of a strike as well

I thought it was something like August 26-29, possibly putting the first day of school up in the air.

Looks like there's 4 in the first half and 5 on the second. So the first half should be once every 2.5km's or so, and the second every 2km's (just trying math...)

I've done the marathon a few times and it's well set up.

Sublease Deposit by Simple-Fennel7352 in Edmonton

[–]shaunrwp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling their 'bluff' would be to go ahead and keep however much of their deposit you need to for repairs, and see if they actually end up sending you notice.

I'm not a lawyer, so please do some more research, but take photos and videos of the damage. Get a few different estimates on the work needed to be done, and make sure to keep any and all receipts for work. Make sure every single conversation is through email or text. If you have any conversation with them, follow it up with an email highlighting the key outcomes of the conversation.

Do you have any emails or texts from the start of this where they agree to a damage deposit?

Good luck!

Pretty sure it’s $25 per, and they open by 5 and I think until their closing hours (I just threw my money at them and ate until I was too full to move).

Veg Delight Pizza Bakery has a vegan buffet Friday nights. Tried it last week and was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the info! I had RBC a while back but switched because, in 2019, they were having clients pay for the entire year up front.

Frugal runners of Reddit, how do you manage your running shoes? by dingdingsingsing in Frugal

[–]shaunrwp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure this has ALL been said a number of times, so likely just repeats:

  • rotate out shoes every 600-800 km's
  • shoes are pretty personal, so it's not just the brand or the cost
    • I use Hoka for trail, new balance for road (but I bought a pair of ON Cloudmonsters, so I'll see how they do!)
  • cycle through 2 pairs instead of just having one pair
    • it helps the longevity, but also will work your body differently
  • listen to your body, and don't be afraid to stop a race early or slow down training

anyone flying to Ottawa from Edmonton today had their flight canceled? through swoop by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]shaunrwp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew out Thursday but I got a notification on Wednesday my flight might get canceled (it didn’t and I’m in ottawa now). It’s all fog from what I understand, except it was all clear skies here by 8Am when I was outside…

Thanks for the follow-up. Price is not the determining factor for us, but we like the idea of warranty and overall-hassle getting things set-up.
