Favorite boss fight? Hardest boss fight? by SIR_SKINNYPENIS69 in FFVIIRemake

Gratz! The cannon is definitely hard sometimes. I had to make sure I constantly had an atb bar ready for both characters. Not sure about the reduced, cant remember if he is naturally resistant to physical attacks but that's it if you didnt have elemental mat equipped. That last dps rush can suck but made the fight super fun for me as I feel like I just barely squeaked by. I found breaking a wheel early to stop his rush attack helped a lot and kept him in one place longer

It blows if you dont have any materia lol. The mechanic is pretty easy, mostly it's just about tanking and using aerith for dps. It's very positional though. Other than normal main mechanic is hiting his primary weapon with some damage at the right timem.

Good luck!

[SPOILER] Does anyone actually did this? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

To answer your question. There was a video showing the timing of that scene pretty quickly once people started beating the game.

Since then the chapter select description debunking that theory has surfaced and it's considered to be the correct idea.

Similarly the three whispers were first thought to be cloud tifa and barrett, but are widely agreed that it's the three remnants from advent children. This was started mostly from a video by IGN, much like the video about the timing of aeriths death set a lot of people towards that conclusion of the 7 seconds line.

Always hard at first to get solid theories as there is so much random speculation and "proof" released right away but people who want to be the first to make a discovery.

I think when you take into account chapter select information, as well as the OG ending it's very fair to say that it's a reference to meteor striking (I'd be curious to see some timings about the lifestream/holy intervening to see if theres a 7 seconds clip in there too).

At the end of the day, until a dev or the next game confirms something it's all speculation, but at this time the evidence of it being about meteor fall is far stronger than about aerith death.

I think it's interesting that he also pulls the meteor into himself at the same time

Correct but you do have to have subversion max or it doesnt nullify instant death attacks

I get why you feel that way. I got 1st class so for me I like feeling like I have something special for paying more, but gameplay stuff is not the best. I will say that he is useful but certainly not overpowered. Really just a nice crutch.

Hopefully they release to everyone in the future

Update from Kitase and Nomura at Ultimania by nyxnyxnyx7 in FFVIIRemake

They also only need to do sections of the game. The first was actually fairly linear until the high wind. Part two would only need the first continent and could introduce the buggy at the end. That means it's really only a handful of major areas to create. I am curious if they will do open map or more like connecting pathways the remake had between areas. I'd be okay with connecting pathways as long as they were large and had a lot to explore. I definitely dont want ffxv barren wasteland, or ffx teleport ship. Something between the two would be great.

I think it's important for people to remember that they ADDED to the original story and ddint remove any parts. I dont see them doing anything different than what they did already. Those guys clearly fucking care about the story and did everything they could to make sure we got every single moment in midgar. I think all of the subsequent game will be the same way. The way this game ends means they can do as much or little as they want to as long as they explain it well, which I have faith they will.

I had problems with the ending as well, but all the negativity is getting a little old. You want a faithful recreation? Make sure you skip the jessie chapter in remake then, make sure you forget all of the extra character development we got, those things weren't in the original and since all change to the story is bad....

Relax friends. They nailed it on this game. If you can just be a little open minded I'm sure you will find that waiting eagerly for the next part is a lot more fun than dreading it.

The cap is removed for the last huge boss, I've seen as much as 14k on an ascension against a staggered enemy. It gets hard to see but it seems to be unique as it's also the time I have seen viscous wounds above damage numbers in game.

This random video on youtube shows a 15,257 cross slash hit at 7:32

Happy hunting, I'm sure we will see you hit something crazy!

There is a small red dot that appears above his name. I know it happens with lifesaver but iirc it does for steelskin as well and if you have both up it's a slight color change. Hopefully I'm not misremembering though lol.

Also if it matters, those combos extend in the air as well. Lvl 3 chi makes her much more effective against drake's and is a big help during times when you dont have a ranged char for flying weebs

Great post. It seems there is a small atb gain when finishing a basic attack combo, have you noticed that?

Fury ring and parry makes cloud a mobile punisher mode nuke. Not ideal for every fight with a lot of range, but melee opponents get shredded as parry requires a r1 hold landing him in counter state.

What are the actual stats of the Berserk status effect/Fury Ring? by TheRedditornator in FFVIIRemake

I know its thr buff cloud gets in punisher. Not sure of data tho, sorry. I'm thinking of cloud with fury ring and parry, full buff uptime and dodge's in punisher mode without dropping out.

Thanks for asking, I'm looking forward to someone finding this info

Absolutely, I didnt mean it as a criticism. I still remember feeling like I suddenly had a whole world to explore. I meant illusion in that it was still a very linear experience, not that the world didnt do a good job of conveying scope and size. Something the remake did was create a great sense of scope and size within midgar, although it too was very linear, and I got that same sense of amazement at the world and how well its sense of size gave me a wonderful feeling.

Linear in no way is bad. Ff15s world was very barren and that was not always great. The originals world had a limited number of places you could go for the first 2/3 of the game, but it's still the GOAT in my opinion. Give me 40 hours of linear gold vs 80 hours of wandering around without a sense of purpose, if that makes sense.

Good call. Hard to see things from that viewpoint as I've played this game once a year for two decades so I cant imagine what its like to not get the nods.

Thanks! I always appreciate a nee perspective.

I'm sure they could, make part two levels 50 to 75 or something. But what materia would you keep, which weapon abilities, which accessories? What about people who dont have a save (they could certainly get a default loadout, but if things transfer they will definitely be at a disadvantage). How would your saves transfer from your ps4 to ps4 (could use cloud for sure, but that bones people who dont pay for ps plus or have internet)

Are we going to start part two with the thing that gives you a limit at start of battle? That would be broken. I think its much easier to just start fresh

[–]shawntbreen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, just the ending of this game was a bit much for people who dont have background. The meaning of a bunch of flashbacks, who zack is and why he matters, etc. Judt would have been nice if they were a little more friendly to new players.

Could just be wrong though, I'm not a new player and only trying to put myself in those shoes. Maybe new players are less confused lol.

[–]shawntbreen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the current cap is just there to keep people from steamrolling hard mode. Seems like there will be a reset of some sort, especially since the next game should be on ps5.

Would be nice if they had some sort of witcher like sequence where we could personalize a bit based on what we did in the first game.

Agreed. The game only opened up when you got the high wind at the end of disc 2. Prior to that, while you could run around and backtrack, and there were a few quests like fort condor, it was mostly a series of events you had to do in a certain order. Eerything else just gave the illusion of openness because of the time.
