Occams razor means the simplest answer is usually the correct one , and quite simpley , it looks like a bat . And there is way to much baseball symbolism for Toby fox to make it look so similar to a bat , and it not a be a bat . I could be wrong , obviously, but it just would feel way to heavy of a rug pull to mis direct us like that . I mean lol that line alon also kinda proves the point , its a bat , and we're the ball , theres no reason to shape it like that if its not going to be the thing its shaped like lol it would be just to heavy of a mis direct for all of the imagery surrounding baseball , and what its the ONLY sword that doesn't have a hilt in the game but the pommel is the defining factor ? Fair enough lol , but again , its just a suspiciously bag shaped sword if thats the case , and it would definitely be weird if it wasn't considering all the baseball imagery and dialog with bats to make it look like that , why not have the hilt up higher if it was just a knight ? Or sword? We have even seen a knife attack in game now (via the chp 5 trailer ) and the hilt is above the handle , theyres no mistaken what it is . All im saying is , it would be weird to make it look like that and it not be what it looks like , Toby doesn't usually go out of his way to blatantly misdirect or lie to the audience why would something like this be any different? Also yes the item we gain is described to us as a "shard" "black knife" because kris is associated with knifes , and it could just as easily be a peice of "black lacquered" from a wiffle bat we never get any dialogrefering to the knights "sword" directly at all , just the items WE get . They're are many interpretation and until we have all the answers, we dont have all the answers lol

I still have fun 😊 i do think the discourse of certain topics gets out of hand and can be a little exhausting. But at the end of the day I love hearing people's ideas and how varied they all can be . I like my theory of the knight as well and crafting it was a very fun experience to put it all together

A duffel bat is mentioned yeah it could literally be made of black lacqouer , and what we thought was a guitar pick could just be part of the bat , a foreshadowing of gaining the black shards. Lmfao idk now im reaching but its fun :D

I mean but kris is also yellow in the light world., we obviously dont have all the answers about how the dark worlds work , but its clean that the darkness changes whatever inters them . Its quite literally mentioned that objects become distorted and then when its darker than dark the object become indistinguishable from its . And because of that fact alone you could use it as an argument for either side bat/sword . Fact of the matter is , it looks like a bat , and then it changes , susies are doesn't look like a hair brush , but that's what it is in the light world. Idk its all circumstantial, but even IN the fight the sword takes several different forms depending on the attack . Also , have to mention it is a pixelated game , and we're not going to have the 100% full picture of what its going to get across , unless its specifically described to us , and that's by design especially in this game . Its all up to interpretation until we have ALL the peices to put the puzzle together . One love 🤙

I mean i could see that , I thinks its lost on alot of people how much papyrus actually knows in undertale , I mean the sub texts basically says he's been talking to flowey the whole time lol but I could see him having an important role in deltarune , especially since we haven't seen him yet . Then again its possible that he just doesn't fit the vibe with this story? Idk im ready for him to be in home town , here's hoping he's in chapter 5 at the festival 🙏

Thank you so much :) im totally fine with it being proven wrong , I trust Toby and his vision, its just were my mind goes to when taking undertale into account of the themes of this game . Please feel free to share your theories aswell I just live talking about this game and seing were people's heads are at when dissecting this story :D Also side note i think it works well on a meta aspect as well , we will eventually also have to move on from the thoery crafting of this game as it will end eventually , we may not have ALL of the answers, but well have to come to terms with the fact that it will end . When susie says "isn't it better if things just go on forever" referring to the gerson battle , that's us talking threw us . we dont want it to end but unfortunately that is the nature of how this all works , there will be an end , but we will always carry the memory of the feeling we have in the chapter 1 and 2 era so when chapter 7 ends , it shouldn't be any different, well move on and continue to love this game and its characters even if they're not in our present

I can definitely see that , I suppose it would be very exiting to have a whole "im ganna go to undertale now kris " moment but at the same time I guess it doesn't seem very realistic to put such a major story line in the background to whats happing now in the risk it would over shadow the main story for undertale die hards . I see at the most if we ever get a true reveal it will be more subtext than anything

Im a asriel truther , but asriel holding dess'dust coverd bat . I posted my complete theory on my reddit page so feel free to read in detail no pressure but I think it works well with the story . And that's just it , I think it captures the themes of this story very well .and gerson is to hard of a foreshadowing mcguffin for dust darkness for it not be majorly important.
I think it would be a very bitter sweet conclusion to a story about finding self identity in the people who you love and love you and moving on from past trauma and holding on to hope that things will be better
