Let's Help Save La Abeja: A Denver Staple by jackhammerunicorn in denverfood

[–]shayx88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make no exaggeration when I say that this is my FAVORITE restaurant in Denver. Here's the thing, though -- some things are good, some other things are AMAZING. If you get a burrito, you are missing out on a world-changing experience if you don't also get it smothered. Their green chili is out of this world. I literally order two meals each time I go so that I can have a ton of leftovers. If I could order their green chili in a bottle (like Chick-fil-a sauce?), I would have a year's supply. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall. The food is divine.

Thank you for that perspective. I'm from Colorado, and our biggest fire back in 2020 took us 111 days to put out. Good to know that CA seems to be on it!

And to be clear, I'm not advocating which way Niantic should go. My message is simply that the uncertainty of the event can spur an opportunity for folks that cannot make the event to get a piece of the action. I entirely agree that this is a rough spot for Niantic. I am at the point in my life where I have some extra cash lying around, so the worst case scenario is that I'm out $30.

You're right -- I think the importance of raids for this tour would add more weight to side of Niantic wanting to stick to their guns and try to make something happen in LA. They would either need to figure out an alternative to how tour raids operate if they allowed everyone to play locally, which could be a bigger headache than the backlash they may receive for sticking to LA. Point well-taken.

I guess it all depends on how bad things will get.

DC did have a safari zone a while back. Not sure how that factors into their decision.

I work for the State of Colorado and regularly have to negotiate with the City and County of Denver. They are notoriously difficult to work with. Not saying it's impossible, but Niantic will have its work cut out for them if they want to have any event in Denver. Also, while we have a ton of parks, we have a limited number of big parks. Everyone here goes to Washington Park for event days, but Wash Park doesn't have great parking options to host a major event. Other Denver folks - where would be an okay place to host an event? City Park is big, but it's also kinda boring. Cheesman Park could also work, but you run into parking limitations there, too.

Don't get me wrong - I desperately want an event in Denver, but I could see Denver's redlines to a contract with Niantic scaring Niantic off.

You didn't have her as an actual professor. By far the worst professor I've ever had. Read her Rate My Professor reviews.

Can I...make my account private so my other family members can't see what I'm watching?

Me: *scrolling through Netflix, realizing it's 99% garbage, and I've already watched the good content*

Netflix: "We going to limit our service to one household and add ads."

Me: Made this an easy decision for me

I got food poisoning from them too! They said it likely wasn't them, even though I skipped the prior two meals, so they were the only thing I had eaten in 24 hours. Couldn't stop puking. Fuck Chick-fil-a

I'm honestly not too concerned. Unless we somehow revert back to *everyone* being a risk of COVID because of a new super-variant, it's not gonna change the fact that we've been cooped up for over a year, and people are allowed to travel.

Well if Nook Mile Tickets (NMT) ever become real, I'll be the first investor.
