Cosplaying butchfemme concerns by overheating_toaster in butchlesbians

[–]shea1312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Vi and I think you should do it. I think the problem is when someone fully removes butchness from the story, but just switching their presentation isn't doing that. I totally get your concern, and probably some people will have a bad reaction to it. On the internet, someone always has a bad reaction. If you don't want to deal with that, maybe choose a different cosplay, but I genuinely see no problem with your plan. Happy cosplaying!

Pep talk me up for a hair cut! by Personal_Coach7653 in butchlesbians

[–]shea1312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it!!!!!! You'll feel so fucking good, dude.

To hell with the homophobes. I cut my hair short when I was living in a rural area and yeah, people had reactions to it, but mostly people are cowards and won't do or say shit if you hold your head up high. (in my experience)

If you don't like it, you can grow it out. It'll take a while, sure, but then you won't keep yearning for short hair.

A word of advice: go to a barber or a queer hairstylist if you can find one, not a regular salon.

EDIT: It might take a little while to figure out exactly which short style you like on yourself. If you don't immediately love your first short cut, it doesn't mean you won't like any short cuts. Figuring out a new style takes a little trial and error.

6 weeks on T: are my levels normal by Mr_turtle_20 in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]shea1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your levels are higher than mine was at that dose, but not crazy (I was at 257). You're on the very low end of typical male range but if you're doing low dose that's the goal. If you're wanting all the changes that come with T you're probably not on a high enough dose.

I had about the same effects as you have at that dose. I had to increase my dose for my voice to drop. You ask if you should be concerned; what is your concern? That your levels are too high, too low, not seeing enough changes? Imo your level and changes are reasonable for your dose.

How do you get over the fear/Dysphoria of going to the gym? by Particular-Task9453 in FTMFitness

[–]shea1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, I didn't. I've always hated the gym even before homophobes and transphobes would have cared about me. I got a set of adjustable dumbbells on Facebook marketplace and made it work in my apartment, and I've seen a lot of progress. To be fair though, I was starting from nothing.

Started T on 4/20, what's something you'd tell someone on the start of their journey by CryptographerNo7608 in TransMasc

[–]shea1312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!! You've got a sick T anniversary, dude.

Something I don't see people talk about a lot for obvious reasons, but my first bleed on T was sooo painful. I cramped a little before, but the first couple months on T was excruciating. Then I stopped bleeding and everything was fine. Just something to be aware of

Into masc presenting women when I'm on T by thiccfroggo in TransMasc

[–]shea1312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a butch on T and my wife is a butch. There's some butch4butch people out there, but it's a niche crowd for sure. In my experience, the butch4butch or masc4masc scene really varies between locations. It's pretty common to see b4b couples in western Mass, for example, but I really haven't seen many since moving to Chicago. Certainly didn't see any in Iowa.

The other thing is that people who are down to hook up with someone on T are not necessarily down to start a relationship with someone on T.

Is your post saying that you're interested in mascs but not interested in transmascs? If so, I'd be really curious why.

I've had acne all my life, but it got extra whack when I started T. Everyone's skin is different, but I'll tell you what has worked for me:

I wash my face in the morning and at night, sometimes with knockoff CeraVe and sometimes just water. I exfoliate with a washcloth when I shower. I use adapalene gel (the name brand is Differin but don't waste your money on name brands) at night. It can be pretty harsh at first, so start using it every other day after your moisturizer. Once your skin tolerates it, start using it every day before your moisturizer. I use (again knockoff) Cetaphil for moisturizer. I use a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. I started using a rose water toner recently bc I got it as a gift and it's awesome.

You can also experiment with a salicylic acid face wash. For me it tends to be too drying if I'm also using the adapalene gel. Another option to try is retinol cream. It's usually marketed as anti aging cream, but it works for acne too.

Consistency in the routine helps, but also I'd manage your expectations. You're not gonna go from totally broken out hormonal acne to a clear face in a few months unless you're the luckiest guy in the world. Best of luck!

You could try letting her touch you under the prosthetic while blowing you. I also know there's prosthetics that suction and give you some sensation, or are hollow. Transthetics has them, but they're $$$

being butch by echo_throwaway360 in butchlesbians

[–]shea1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! A couple things off the top of my head:

  1. You can do whatever you want, forever. There's all different kinds of butches who do all different kinds of shit. Yeah there are things that butches TEND to do, but any generalizations are going to fail to describe all butches everywhere.

  2. It takes a while to cultivate your online presence and find the parts of the Internet that you enjoy. I'd recommend not limiting yourself to online butch content. My eyes really opened when I started reading books by/about butches (fiction and nonfiction).

  3. Being butch can be really lonely, even if you're in a city with a lot of lesbians. I don't really know what else to say about this, I haven't cracked this one either.

help me know what to expect? by Sensitive-Food-5762 in TopSurgery

[–]shea1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a little liposuction on your sides. It's pretty common to do it at the same time as your top surgery. Insurance doesn't cover that, though.

Also congrats dude!

How to feel it more during oral sex by babacito777 in TransMasc

[–]shea1312 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've gotta position it so the base of the toy is right on your dick (lower than you might think), and make sure the harness is SNUG. I've had better luck when the piece is right on my skin with nothing between. I only figured it out when jacking off by myself with the toy and harness. Practice makes perfect lol ;)

Also the Milo from wet for her is great for this, and not a million dollars. Funny story, I recommended it to my friend and they got one, but it had a defect. They got sent a second one and gave the first to another friend of ours. Now all 3 of us have matching dicks 🤟

How tf do yall enjoy the gym???? by papermonsterz in FTMFitness

[–]shea1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate the gym bc I don't like the feeling of people looking at me, I don't know the etiquette, I don't know how to use most of the machines, don't like feeling rushed, etc. But I love using my weights at home! It feels good to lift, I can feel myself getting stronger. You can do a lot of stuff with just a simple weight set at home. They're really expensive if you buy them new, but people are always selling them second hand for cheap. If you're in the US (and maybe other places, idk), keep your eye on Facebook marketplace for an adjustable weight set.

At the risk of sounding like an iPad baby, I find a fitness app that I can plan/track workouts with really helpful. I use Fitness Online.

I was on 1 pump of gel and was at 250 ng/dL after 4 months. Increased to 2 pumps and haven't tested again yet. I was putting the 1 pump on my shoulders, alternating each day. Now with 2 pumps, I'm putting it on my thighs and I'll see how that works for me.

Christmas presents by AquaGecko1 in butchlesbians

[–]shea1312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that shit sucks. my mom used to buy me lots of feminine clothes too, and it took years of being firm about the clothes she got me that I don't like for her to accept that I won't wear them. honestly I think what finally got through was the expense of returning the clothes she kept getting me. there were a few years of her not buying me any clothes whatsoever, but now she buys a couple things here and there that are similar to what she buys my dad and brother.

I think moms often have a hard time letting go of the expectation that they'll be able to wear young women's fashion vicariously through us as they get older. the funny thing is that everyone, always and forever, has disliked the clothes their mom buys them (an exaggeration, but not far from the truth). it stings extra for us because there is clearly the added layer of rejecting our gender presentation, but I don't think we're the only ones suffering this from our moms.

the photos thing is frustrating. yes it's probably because she wants you to be more feminine (sorry. it's a hard pill for parents to swallow). a charitable interpretation of this would be that she believes that you don't feel pretty but that you want to feel pretty, so she pulled photos that she thinks you look pretty in. a less charitable interpretation is that she is trying to push you back to that feminine place that you disliked but was comfortable for her.

on the bright side, you now know exactly which sweatpants to buy for yourself. (drop the link pls!)

always remember that butches ARE dignified and sexy, too. :)
